I think a lot of you are missing the point when you say "that guy". There's hundreds of "guys"; thousands perhaps. In this manner you're like the Texas representative who tried to grill the Google CEO: He thinks there's a "guy"... a man behind the curtain.. in that case there isn't any "guy". In the case of Beau... there are thousands. There's no continuity except in their belief in violence. And, perhaps we might speculate the reinforcement of the negative came from Russia or Iran or the RNC or Klan or... this is not a simple game.

I'm trying to find a way to get my lead to think more like Beau. He's *RIGHT ON THE CUSP* of it, but he's jaded from MSM and is a former democrat who is jaded from the clintons and the like, and all the lies corporate democrats told him, so he's been kinda sucked into the Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson, and Bill O'Reilly side of news and info, and even though he's a retired army MP who has a decent grasp on critical thinking, he's so jaded that it's hard to convince him of anything left-of-that. Well said, Bobby! Unless the crime is especially heinous, the only difference between an ex-con and someone with a clean record is luck - because one got caught and the other didn't. Besides, unless a record shows a pattern that can predict future behaviour (like an escalation in violence, etc), then once that person has served their sentence, their punishment should be complete. It's wrong to continually penalise someone who has paid their debt to society and atoned. None of us are the same person we were 5, 10, 20 years ago - ex-cons are no different. We can't have redemption stories if we don't give people the opportunity to redeem themselves. I hope life is treating you well now 💕

He lost me at "deradicalisation." What is wrong with radicalism? Some of Beau's ideas are radical: he advocates changes at a fundamental level, as opposed to tweaks and reforms on the periphery. That's what radicalism means, from Latin rādīcālis: "of the root" (of the problem). The word radical has been hijacked by the worst elements of the counterterrorism industry, and made to refer simultaneously to extremism and to any desire to change the status quo of political power. It is disappointing that Beau is repeating this corrupted language uncritically.

I listen to this sometimes when I need a reminder. Nobility by Alice Cary True worth is in being, not seeming,-- In doing, each day that goes by, Some little good--not in dreaming Of great things to do by and by. For whatever men say in their blindness, And spite of the fancies of youth, There's nothing so kingly as kindness, And nothing so royal as truth. We get back our mete as we measure-- We cannot do wrong and feel right, Nor can we give pain and gain pleasure, For justice avenges each slight. The air for the wing of the sparrow, The bush for the robin and wren, But always the path that is narrow And straight, for the children of men. 'Tis not in the pages of story The heart of its ills to beguile, Though he who makes courtship to glory Gives all that he hath for her smile. For when from her heights he has won her, Alas! it is only to prove That nothing's so sacred as honor, And nothing so loyal as love! We cannot make bargains for blisses, Nor catch them like fishes in nets; And sometimes the thing our life misses Helps more than the thing which it gets. For good lieth not in pursuing, Nor gaining of great nor of small, But just in the doing, and doing As we would be done by, is all. Through envy, through malice, through hating, Against the world, early and late, No jot of our courage abating-- Our part is to work and to wait. And slight is the sting of his trouble Whose winnings are less than his worth; For he who is honest is noble, Whatever his fortunes or birth.

At this point, it's not just "different views". It's views based on the betrayal of trust by powerful people. Those "views" have been proven to be dangerous. So to say he is some brutal slave driving mastermind based off that seems like a stretch. I'm no legal expert whatsoever but if court documents weren't sealed I imagine people could get a hold of more verified info and if they are sealed then it's probably something he can't go into detail about. The issue becomes one of those we "need" to come together with not wanting the things we want, but still ensconced in their desire for money and power. The catch is that if we join with them, there will be no great change. We need to decide if the greater need is for unity, or change because it very much appears that we cannot have both.

18 month sub to that other content creator here. literally nuked my support after i saw that video this morning. Of course this wasnt the first issue ive had with the choices of this streamer. They have been increasingly hostile towards anyone they perceive to be anarchist. Its sad, but typical of that type of online space. I thought this content creator was genuine. They have good info, and ive learned a lot from them. But i just cant continue to support the emotional manipulation and tug-of-war between online communities. This person is not like Vaush or Destiny, i told myself. Or at least they weren't until those viewer numbers were over 2k. I think we owe each other some common decency. And if we aren't letting people grow, especially from their own mistakes and experiences, then wtf are we even doing? You can see my manifesto (lol) over on that channel's comments, i dont want to repeat myself here too much. This shit honestly really upset me though. These things have been discussed, as much as im sure Beau is comfortable with, but the video is presented like a detective had solved a mystery. And im already pissed that other content creators will be broadcasting about that video. Because after all, the hype trains must go on! disgusting. I've just become so disillusioned from online spaces after getting out and doing actual mutual aid. I know the answer to this question already, but im gonna ask anyway: did this content creator even reach out to you? Even try to have a conversation with you before creating a narrative? Ontario wanted a white picket jobbie, Quebec wanted a ceder hedge, Alberta wanted an electric cattle fence, BC wanted an art installation made of sea shells and forest debris, Nova Scotia wanted a nice low stone wall until we reminded it that it didn't have a land border with the US so now it's sulking and insisting on a line of demarcation buoys...

Often the best good guys are the ones who having gone astray, realize the error of their youthful judgement and want to save others from the same mistakes. Passing on knowledge to point them to the right path is admirable. Your content is clear and thoughtful and considerate of others. You make the ideas presented relevant to the viewers in an way they can relate to so the content doesn’t sound preachy and is not insulting. I’m very impressed with the energy and research you put into your videos. I have been a soldier, corrections officer, State Trooper (retired) and I cannot remember seeing any programming, professionally produced or otherwise that would meet the quality and content you produce. I wish every school taught civics and featured many of your videos. It really would make a difference in attitudes. It would also teach them to research topics as you do prior to forming opinions. I believe based on the viewership numbers that you are making a difference. Each step, every story dedicated to making our world better helps move us all in the right direction to oppose the hate and division spread by the agents of darkness and disparity. You are, in my humble opinion, one of the “good guys”. Joel

I just want to thank you. Thank you for all of your videos. I was in a mass shooting in December 2020. Up until the moment the shooting started, I had always thought about the repeated, how a “good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun” and I used to think: maybe that’s so. When the shooting started, that all changed. I knew in that very instant that if a “good guy” did pull a gun, I, nor anyone else there would know it was a good guy, and had a cop been nearby, they are trained to kill anyone they see with a gun. That’s just one of hundreds of thoughts that went through my mind. I honestly believed I was going to die, and the only thought that stayed with me was that I was never going to get to tell my family that I love them. And that was heartbreaking. It also was my motivation to get up and run. It only lasted maybe a total of approximately 3 minutes, it felt like a lifetime. The scenarios that played through my mind were like lightning bolts. Within a couple days I saw your video about shooters/school shooters, and even though you uploaded those videos long before the shooting I was in, the videos brought me some comfort, some hope that maybe someone who could take the information and make some positive changes. I’m so happy that the people who were promoting your content was doing that and were no doubt effectively changing radical thinking. I really enjoy your videos, they are very insightful, peace promoting, well thought out and well executed. Please keep up the great work that you do, we see you, and we love you.

Byron, honestly, I never imagined it would happen to me. I live in kind of a rural area, I don’t often go into the city. I’m a humanitarian and I guess I tend to believe that people are inherently good. I think that America is desensitized to violence, I say that because it is so commonplace that when we see another shooting on the news, we barely bat an eye. The short answer, directly is that there is no method of learning from anything than real world experience. I tend to think more on; how do we combat this problem before the shooter starts shooting. People tend to think about the back end too much. My philosophy is an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I don’t know how we stop it but I do think that making access to mental health services very easily accessible, and more comprehensive background checks would be a very good start. What I’m trying to say is that I prefer not to wait until the next shooter goes off, not to wait until another 5,10,20+ people are killed before we take action. To prevent it rather than just responding to each one as they happen.

Corey, you are so right when you say Americans are desensitized to violence. When I read your original comment, I thought "What mass shooting in December? I don't remember hearing about that." Then I Googled it. There were 29 mass shootings in the US in December!!! 29!! That is truly shocking and so eye-opening. But I care to differ on the so many 'bad guys', in my life experience I've found that most people that would qualify as such are really just more people in need of caring, understanding and basic human love ... and that's coming from down in the social sewer where I have spent many many years being in direct contact with trouble makers. @Mushroom Burger Drugs were something I did to myself, for "reasons". I would never compare that experience to an attack or abuse perpetrated by others. I also don't think we insist on it, but more a than a few recovering addicts become rehab counselors, because they know the difficulties, both with addiction itself, and trust. I don't know anything about mass-shooting victims, but I would imagine that someone who'd been through it themselves, would be easier to trust....not that one would insist on it; but they might.
