great overview of an important topic! helmets: try it on in the store and leave it on for a while to be sure it is comfortable- everybody's head is a little different shape, if you are not comfortable in the helmet, you won't wear it. ps- is that a 3/4 helmet on the shelf to the left side of the screen over your helmet rack? riding gear:i also wish the Olympia gear was readily available as it had lots of features and a good price and they were innovators in developing liners and i miss them heated gear:i have a gerbings jacket liner. Some say all you need is mesh and electrics but if you don't have a windproof layer on over it, the wind blows away the warmth footwear: socks like base layers should have wicking properties and be high enough so boot tops don't rub your shins. Ankle protection is a must- i broke an ankle on a zero mph drop in the driveway
