I use my credit card as a debit card. Haven’t paid a cent in interest in years. DR’s anti credit card hostility is because he has to be that way. The people who need his advice the most can’t handle them. If you’re responsible there’s no difference between it and a debit card.

That being said, the Apple card isn't that good of a card anyway, it's just decent enough and people like Apple. For example, if you are going to use a credit card, a Chase CC has better cash back unless you already own an iPhone and can use Apple pay. Even then, I think some other banks have even higher cash back rates on their cards.

But I still use it as a debit card and only pay a yearly fee of like 25$ and I transfer money to it only when I'm out. Dave, you should take 3 min and read the article. It stated that after making $500k and setting their budget they still "feel" average CNBC wasn't positioning them as average, quite the contrary, they were trying to show how easy it can be to fall into "lifestyle creep" and how a clearly above average income can quickly be consumed by many small poor choices. Then they make a statement I think you would agree with "Ultimately, a hefty paycheck doesn’t always guarantee wealth or financial peace of mind. By contrast, budgeting and living beneath your means, no matter your income level, can help you out tremendously in the long run."

Makes sense from Apple's side of the equation, as they are sitting on many billions of dollars in cash that needs to be allocated. Some of that cash gets paid out as dividends, but when you can loan out some of it for 14-25%+, then why not? I've noticed at least among my peers that quite a few people are buying bigger houses, new cars, and toys like RVs, and this is when I start to get bearish as it's usually an indicator that the tide is about to start receding. .

Do you plan to still budget and subtract each purchase from your remaining budget balance or do you plan to just swipe your card regardless of a price and be surprised by the bill when it comes out?

My sister and I were talking about the apple credit card and comparing it to the magnesus card by Billy MacFarlen the fyre festival guy. I think that card was metal too and people bought it because it was metal and looked cool, but it was his first scam before the fyre festival.

Interest rates don’t matter as long as you pay the full amount at the end of the day. If you have no self control then don’t get a credit card. Credit cards are supposed to be paid off in full monthly and used only for the Percs or money back. Credit cards can be good if you’re responsible

Don't need another credit card. I have one that I use when traveling (numerous benefits) and another just for general purchases. Neather card carries a balance beyond the end of the billing period. Current credit score 800+.
