Like the Glowforge Aura, the Glowforge Spark is a 6W Diode Laser capable of cutting lots of wood sheets, many acrylic colors, cork, rubber, and much much more! Though it’s not as capable as a $5,000+ CO2 laser, this Diode laser can do so much!
What’s more, I have a Facebook group where I share tons of unique materials that work with the Glowforge Aura and Glowforge Spark. Once you get your very own Spark, make sure to join my group for all the hacks and surprise materials that you’ll be able to use with your Glowforge Spark. Typically Diode Lasers can’t cut white, blue and transparent acrylic - but I’ve found some exceptions like a black core white acrylic! On the outside it looks just like white acrylic, but it’s black on the inside and works with the Glowforge Aura and Glowforge Spark! Woohoo!
