I had some "mild salt" Doritos from Japan once. They're essentially just unflavored Doritos tortilla chips with a little salt. They were shockingly good. They sounded super boring but it really made me appreciate how good the base Doritos tortilla chip is.

Here in France we have a "Sizzling Salsa" flavour and it's one of the most delicious snacks I've had. It taste exactly like if you dunked a basic Doritos in a salsa, but it saves you the hassle of actually getting a bowl of salsa I guess. It has a respectable heat, nothing too much but if you heat several of them it's definitely there, and it has a really nice tomato-based salsa taste. These are my go-to in terms of "chip based" snacks ahead of any Pringles or potato chips. I think you would have really liked it.

quick tip: mexican made doritos are otherworldly, if you could get your hands on them the spices and flavors they use make regular american doritos feel bland, and they have extra flavors, like an "incognito" mystery flavor and a pizza flavor called "Pizzerola" but you need to shoot for the Nacho Cheese Flavor that's specifically FROM MEXICO
