Thought I'd share a recipe here that uses one of these soups! Its a nice dip, I usually use it for tortilla chips. 1 can bean and bacon soup 1 package taco seasoning ¼ tsp hot sauce 1 cup sour cream ½ cup chopped olives 1 cup shredded cheese of choice ½ cup alfalfa sprouts ½ cup chopped tomato First, mix the taco seasoning and hot sauce into canned soup (don't heat or add water). Then, spread this mixture over a dinner plate. Second, spread sour cream on top of the mixture. Third, layer olives, then cheese, then alfalfa sprouts, and then chopped tomato up. This looks very nice, but can be hard to get full flavour when dipping, so feel free to put some in a bowl to mix up and dip into. Have fun experimenting with it!

I'm really glad you gave the chunky gumbo an A+. That's one of the soups I live on. Sometimes I'll mix a can of that and the Jambalaya together, and add black pepper and other stuff. Always satisfying. And, their wonton used to be pretty good, but it's suffered over the years. The wontons were still mini, but they were bigger than they are now. It had chicken and greens. Not like restaurant quality with giant wontons, but still used to be decent. Also, if anyone is a bit older, they might recall some crazy soups Campbell's used to have. Two I remember were cream of shrimp (which was orange and gross), and "pepper pot" which used to have beef tripe, and other odds and ends in it. Yum lol. Also bring back beef noodle.... Ugh! I can't find a canned beef noodle soup anywhere. I love soup. I ate it growing up. I still eat it now. I buy it canned, and I make it myself all the time. Man, I’m remembering how growing up I used to like the Cream of Chicken, and as a teen, I cooked with the Cream of Potato as a base for a great, herby soup that I need to make again. I also agree that the tomato soup is fantastic, and I love adding herbs from my garden, pasta, and Italian sausage to it to make it hearty and delicious.

When we got Covid early in the pandemic, the chicken noodle soup was the only thing I could even SLIGHTLY taste. I mean, I could eat a raw onion and feel and smell nothing. Chicken noodle soup was like this beautiful light in this immense sea of darkness. And all I could taste was salt… but damn was it the tastiest salt soup I ever had.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned, but Campbell's is notorious for making their "vegetarian" soups not vegetarian. Like the broccoli cheese and cream of mushroom, it has "natural flavors" which includes chicken.

I know you were committed to rating them as they come straight from the can, but in my opinion adding some black pepper to the New England clam chowder or the chicken corn chowder brings those up to an A+. There are two classic tomato soup cake recipes; one that's a spice cake (similar to applesauce or pumpkin cake) with cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and sometimes raisins, usually served with cream cheese frosting or a sprinkle of powdered sugar, and a chocolate tomato cake that uses the tomato soup for moisture rather than flavor (which comes from cocoa or melted chocolate, you really can't taste the tomato).
