In Ecuador, passion fruit is one of our favorites! There is even a yellow variation of the fruit that we call maracuya, which is a bit sweeter if you ask me. It's hard to find the fruit here in America, and most of my friends don't seem to understand my love for the fruit, but I always get excited when I come by it. Passion fruit reminds me of my childhood and my culture. It's personally my favorite and I get anything that has passion fruit or maracuya in it.

I’m half Puerto Rican and dude, let me tell you, Palcha Limbe (Passion Fruit) is so addicting for some reason, I would visit my Abuela’s place and she would buy them from her neighbor who sold them for about a dollar, they’re pretty much just popsicles but in a plastic cup, something about them just hits different, I used to eat it without a spoon or anything and just kinda lick it away, I honestly recommend it as a food to try, you could also try other things, my Abuela made the best rice and my mom was taught how to make it, I seriously need to learn how to make it myself, I could live off the stuff, I hope you have a good day! Side note: I never was able to figure out if it’s spelled Limbe or Limbel, can someone else who’s Puerto Rican help me out in this? Thanks.

We eat this a lot in Venezuela! You can eat it as is (I usually don't bite into the seeds and just swallow them 🤷‍♀️), It makes a very good juice (I personally like it better than orange juice) and we also have it in sweets like passion fruit mousse and ice cream👌. Ours are kinda bigger than this shown in the video, and they're also yellow.

My parents are from Mauritius and we get passion fruit trees that grow around the place. One of my favourite treats as a kid was when my mum got some fresh passion fruits. We'd cut them in half, add a little sugar and give it a mix. The sugar helps to undercut the sour taste but it goes great it smoothies, ice cream and kulfi too!

Btw us Vietnamese have a different name for it, here’s it’s called “chanh dây” which directly translates to string lemon, probably because the passion fruit tree doesn’t have a big trunk but rather and grows and climbs on whatever surface it gets a hold of like a vine

Also I’m not sure if it’s like the staple in any particular country, but my uncle lives in Mexico, and in the area he lives almost every single restaurant has fresh passion fruit drinks and desserts, so it’s relatively common at least in some places down there. I know in some places in Italy I’ve seen passion fruit gelato as well, but a lot less commonly there, and I haven’t seen any fresh passion fruit there either, so I dont get the impression at least that it’s super popular there even though they do have some passion fruit flavored things

And sometimes I put red chili powder and salt into it (without any sugar that is) and eat it. Both goes really well with the fruit since it is savory
