The red paint trick is a good idea. Hadn’t thought of that before.
@Will_Forge2 ай бұрын
I used to do this with Silicone grease when lining up new screw holes when I used to work as a tech repairing appliances. I sometimes had to use aluminum scrap to make replacement metal plate covers with tin snips when reconditioning a used machine as part of making it like new.

I really like the larger sword handle as well. Both of these are MASSIVE improvements to an already very good kit
@Luna-tc3xj2 ай бұрын
I mean I personally think the handles a little too big, though I haven't had the chance to go look at the stock model for the sword myself yet, so I'm not entirely sure how bad it is there. I just mean that, at least if I imagined the demon prince holding the sword in two hands it does look like Thier would still be way too much handle left over, but that might just be a personal preference thing
@scenczyk14292 ай бұрын
@@Luna-tc3xj the stock model has a ridiculously small handle
@commmarine95472 ай бұрын
The idea was close, but wrong. You put the paint dot where you want the pin to go on the head. Before you drill, place the head with the wet paint dot on the neck. Now you got the correct location. If you do it the way shown in the clip, you can't tell when the neck and head is aligned because you got the head 1/2 inch in the air due to the pin preventing you from contacting head to neck.

Huh, never heard of using petroleum jelly with green stuff. How does it work?
@TheHobbyCollabАй бұрын
Hey sorry for the late reply. Petroleum jelly prevents the green stuff from sticking to your tools kind of like water. But unlike water, you dont have to keep rewetting your tools. Also, your tools glide more easily off the surface. It's hard to describe, its more of a "feel" type of thing.
@Rob749s2 ай бұрын
Looks great. But why pin a plastic model kit? Plastic glue bonds better than super glue, and it's not heavy enough for support. Does it help with something else?
@TheHobbyCollabАй бұрын
Good question! I did use a little plastic glue after the pin was in place, but that wasnt 100% needed. Also, the area where the two piece meet wasn't very flat, and would've required more sanding which may have changed the angle of the head which I wanted to avoid. There's a large gap under between the neck on the body and head, so if I used only plastic glue would've meant holding the pieces together for awhile until the glue fully set, and even then wouldnt have been as sturdy as pinning.
@reschke5Ай бұрын
I mean you could have just plastic glued the wilderfiend head on and then filled said gaps with green stuff and not have to do all the extra steps of pinning

How many heads are in the Wilderfiend kit? Been thinking of getting one, when it gets fully released, and I have a Demon Prince to try this on. But I don't want to ruin the wilderfiend mini completely.

@@KjellEilertsen How so?
@KjellEilertsenАй бұрын
@@ChaseDaOrk3767 Hard to put into words exactly why, they just look unintelligent but not feral. It's have to study up on why certain features gives us humans certain impressions, like big head and big eyes we associate with babies and therefore we don't consider it threatening but cute instead. The stock heads just look bad to me. If they are cool to you then all good, not trying to argue anyone should agree with me. :)

Maybe dislike is the wrong word. I feel like none quite fit what I wanted for my army. My army is Undivided, which rules out 4/5 heads. The one Undivided head provided just didnt feel monstrous enough to me.
@Elvings922 ай бұрын
Isn't plastic glue enough? Or is the head not plastic?
@TheHobbyCollab2 ай бұрын
Plastic glue would probably be enough if you let it set, but I felt the rod helped reinforce the connection since I started sculpting around the neck soon after.
