People focus too much on features. These pedals have charm. I've long heralded the Wiggler for its amp-like Tremolo and selection of Vibrato effects. Let's put it up next to the Worm and see how it gets along.

I remember both of these sitting in the pedal case at the Guitar Center I worked at in 2006. Nobody understood, much less wanted, either of them.

the worm is such a hidden gem. im yet to find a bad sound on mine unlike my last multi modulation pedal lol. ive even managed to pull a convincing leslie sound out of it

Love how EHX just does their own hot take with terms. On the Wiggler, the tremolo is proper amplitude modulation, but the “vibrato” is clearly more of a harmonic tremolo circuit than a true pitch shifting vibrato - Then on the Worm, the vibrato is actually true pitch shifting vibrato, but the tremolo is more of a harmonic tremolo rather than just amplitude modulating tremolo… And the “wah” is more of a phase shifting effect than a wah filter, heh heh.

Great vid as usual. I was about to get that smaller box EHX Worm you mentioned but when I saw the power requirements I knew I didn't wanna lug around an extra power brick that would likely break after a year or two and be somewhat difficult to re-source so I passed on it.....same thing happens with the EHX Frequency Analyzer. I love EHX but when it comes to power; let's just say power can be dangerous in the wrong hands 🤯

Yup, I don’t know why they don’t use a step up transformer in the pedal to give it a 9v input.

I've been using both of these for quite awhile, Wiggler for its vibrato and Worm for its autowah.

Those big boxes DO have their charm don't they! ..... When pedal board real-estate isn't an issue, they have some tonal qualities too, that would make them very desirable. I have a rather big pedal board but my needs are big as well so I generally prefer the compact.... but for my tube zipper I'll make an exception if I can.. Tubes have a very special tone that some argue can't really be replaced. ...I think I just found an interesting nerdy topic, perfect for your channel to explore.

I don't know why, but I like big pedals, too. My Jet Phaser is substantial and surprisingly heavy.

I have the big box and the small version and compared them both side by side. It’s true that the only difference in sound is that the small one is less noisy.
