She wants a refund for her deposit. The defendant argues he turned down other events on the day of her wedding. He’s countersuing for the balance left on the contract.

I guarantee she knew what it was for, because when the judge said is it for domestic violence, she said no it wasn't. Well then if you know it wasn't for domestic violence how can you stand there and say you don't know what it was for. In addition to that she said she already broke up with a guy but she kept referring to the guy as her fiance. Which just tells me she was probably still involved with him at the time.

Remembered this one! A very rare case where the countersuit was withdrawn during the trial. The defendant certainly wasn’t lying when he said he’s a child of God.

I think she was attracted to the type of man he was. He raised the bar so high for her fiance that she just could not go through with the wedding anymore. Those conversations that they were having two to three times a week was a blessing because now she might just raise her standards when it comes to men going forward. How could she not be attracted to him. I was attracted to his personality and humbleness myself LOL

I actually grew up listening to DJ Robbie Rob. One of fav DJ’s hands down from NYC. He always had the best CD’s. That wedding definitely would of been jamming lol That showed a lot about his character not rolling through with the counterclaim.

I guess there are no dress codes for court! Warrant for the fiance's arrest. Police called because he "got in her face." A child is already in the picture. What a train wreck. Lady, there's no such word as textes, it's texts. She is what irrational and unreasonable look like. Some people have no idea how foolish they look when they bring frivolous issues to court. Wedding coordinators will tell you that you seldom get deposits back regardless of the circumstances. The defendant is a stand-up guy.

I saw a Judge Mathis one where the woman’s fiancé died a week before the wedding and she wanted the deposit back to pay for his funeral and the coordinator sent a really terse response like “sorry for your loss, no refunds”. Sometimes a contract can be breached for an act of god and since his death was sudden and the defendant lied about receiving some of the money, he awarded her the money. However, this situation is totally different and the guy was legit.

It's a *VERY simple contract case.* She put down a deposit (typically those are non-refundable), things went south with her fiance, she called off the wedding and the defendant *gets to KEEP the deposit.*

Many years ago I did Wedding Events. Audio/Video and Photo. Things happen and IF I could rebook I would return the money but otherwise it was forfeited. It was sad cause sometimes they cancelled right before for relationship issues and 30 days prior they had to be paid in full. I usually would try to give them something back, but I had staff I still paid since they blocked off those dates. Never had anyone get too mad about it though.
