I can relate to this and I have autism! I've learned that it's best to just find a middle ground/things you are both interested in to talk about first; test the water a little. Irl, just a smile and a nod/wave goes a long way whenever you pass by someone or to greet them, you don't have to always engage in convos. For Wendigoon, I think he's good at being lighthearted and warm so it comes off as natural. Like, genuinely I can feel not an ounce of malice coming from him and he doesn't try to say things to provoke people, he just exists and is himself. It's definitely why I like his main channel videos; it just feels like your cool friend telling you about stuff you can tell he is passionate about. His christianity-lore esque videos even helped me a little with my religious trauma, albeit I'm still agnostic. Edit: Okay last paragraph seems like I'm going on an unrelated tangent but my brain says that it's related in that you just need to be unapologetically yourself! As long as you're a kind person and are willing to learn from every interaction, it should help a little!

This might not be what you're looking for but as a fellow "anxiety when talking to new people online" haver, if you have this game I'd be up for playing it with you. I could be wrong but knowing the other person also has that anxious feeling might make it easier to talk (BTW sorry if this is weird, idk if there is a way to DM on youtube because I just lurk, I barely ever even comment)

Not really, but this game can be the most hilarious thing you have ever played or the most horrific too, the situation can change in a matter of seconds, it's so fun

As a spectator its absolutely hilarious but when ur in the dark alone listening to monster footsteps approach its absolutely terrifying.

I mean, you're just looking at it from an outsider's perspective, of course its not gonna be scary since it isn't you that's going through it. But even if it doesn't look scary, I assure you that whenever you're being haunted by a bracken, coilhead or god forbid a specter, you WILL fear for your life.

It's both. The game is designed to be fun and funny with friends and certain situations, but utterly horrifying when other situations happen. It's a good blend of the two. There's an item that is like inhaling helium and makes your voice high-pitched, and there's also an item that makes constant noise and will give your position away when you're hiding from monsters. It's just a good blend of the two needed aspects of a co-op horror game: fun with friends and scary when things shit hits the fan

It's a whole other game if you're the only one alive or playing solo
