So I think at this point it’s safe to assume the majority of you have been playing Lethal Company. And I am in love with this game! But as someone who doesn’t have a “real job”, I’ve found myself having to wait till my friends get home to start my shift at The Company.
And I’m a smart guy, so instead of staring at the wall all day, I decided to see if this Zeekerss guy had made any other games besides Lethal Company...
And it’s a damn good thing I did, because what I found surprised me far more than any game I’ve played this year... (More than Lethal Company, lethal company update, lethal company funny moments, keywords, buzzwords, algorithm OOOOOH)

i personally liked the secret levels because i saw them more as "the developer was just fooling around with the tools he had" than "actual secret levels" and that made me enjoy them way more because they're just goofy as hell

Yeah for sure, I mostly enjoyed the ones I showed but most of the others I found a little annoying. I still havent completed the "He Lurks" floor and its the only thing stopping me from 100%-ing it.

@@CreemSmile I'm not to familiar with the secret levels, so I apologize if I'm wrong but if He Lurks is the checkerboard, maze-like level then (while still valid) the level is a reference to another work from zeekerss called "It Steals". A neat little reference but as stated earlier any frustrations with it are still valid. (and apologies again if I don't know what I'm talking about, I just wanted to mention that after I saw the checkered maze and smiled bigly)

I've heard about and seen Tomato gaming play this game. But I didn't connect that this was the same dev of Lethal Company until I saw the art style and the robot model being reused. He really is an indie game genius. He's made some bangers

the art style usually helps too. When i first saw Lethal Company i thought it looked very "Zeekers" like, and it turned out to be that way. The art style is probably common throughout games, but like this art style still feels like Zeeker's style, you feel me? I'm happy this developer has been getting more recognition now thanks to Lethal Company, and even happier that it's getting other people to check their other works too! My first introduction was It Steals, also a very neat lil horror game they made.

Between all his games, I think Zeekerss has a very distinct visual style and his gameplay also has a certain feel to it, kinda like all half life or doom mods have

It Steals had its moment of fame, and Lethat Company is still beloved, but The Upturned was completely ignored, glad to hear someone talking about it.

When I first saw people playing Lethal Company, I hadn't heard of it beforehand, and in about 5 minutes I was like 'Oh, huh, why does this remind me of The Upturned?' and then I saw it was a Zeekerss game, which just makes me impressed that the Vibe was so recognizable even my meatbrick brain picked up on it.

I had played It Steals after some youtubers mucked around it but I'm a lil baby so couldn't finish the claustrophobic halls. I then went to see if Zeekerss has made anything and was thoroughly surprised by The Upturned. It has a very unique art style and the setting itself has loads of room for creativity on the creators part. It's a fun platformer but a really tense thriller that kept me on edge every time those elevator doors opened. The music was funky and silly, the designs of the characters are cute yet off-putting at the same time, and Ik. Oh my goodness, this game would not even be close to as good if IK was not by your side. He's a goofy guy who just wants to help you make it back to your home safe and he's so erratic and unpredictable that he makes the best company. Give this game a shot it's not that expensive and it'll easily give you a good 6 or 7 hours of fun. It deserves more recognition.

@@CreemSmile I think the ending was meant to be interpreted in a more biblical sense, the people in the upturned are the last souls in existence after the earth's destruction and I think the rider at the end is supposed to represent Death (since he arrives in a white/pale horse) or an angel who came to gather the lost souls residing there and bring them to the next stage or put them to rest.

lethal just drew attention to a really silly decent indie developer he didnt do the classic gofundme promises or take a big fall he just got lucky and made something like his other works and that got popular enough to shed light on his work hope he does more projects for now and not just scale up

My personal canon is that this game and lethal company share the same world since you can find toy robots (definitely not a reference to this game or reused asset for lethal company) at 4:53 on the conveyer belt plus it would explain why there is so many horrible creatures and why they take up the same shapes or anatomy as some of the monsters in lethal company like bunker spiders or coil heads also what if these are the homes people have to live in lethal company some take up jobs as scavengers for the company and others that are fortunate enough to have a comfortable equity live in these hotel rooms/hotels

It genuinely makes me so happy to see some people actually talking about the upturned! I discovered it in 2022 and it quickly became one of my favourite games of all time, getting me into more of zeekerss' stuff. It really is an underrated gem that i think shouldn't go unnoticed since it is really good. Awesome video too! Keep up the good work!

I haven't played the game, but I think Bonus Levels are great EXACTLY for that type of content: strange ideas that aren't fleshed out to put into the main game. As someone that wants to make his own game at some point, this can extremely valuable, as these types of level has soooo muuuuch value. And even as a regular gamer, it should be fun enough just to see, what else COULD be done here. There is no shortage of examples, where some kind of sidecontent or mini-gamemode became the fans' favorite over time. Granted, that only really applies to the type of content that is COMPLETELY optional, preferably unlockable.

Oh my gosh I remember when I liked the upturned a bit too much, was in a small little community where everyone was a fan of it and I'd normally spend my time hunting for glitches, lethal company was announced around this time too and I swear it was originally gonna be a rouge like, or well.. at least the tags said that, wasn't as hyped when it released cuz I'm a huge rouge like guy and big communities scare me but I'm super happy zeekers has a bigger fanbase and the upturned is getting more attention :0

ive also got a big fear of horror in general but goofy horror is different, for instance in 2020 i played the arkham games and fell in love with everything batman but i quit arkham asylum as soon as scarecrow jumpscared me and didnt want to play arkham knight because of a single jumpscare that i could avoid by not doing a side mission and the intro sequence being spooky and the fact i went years watching netflix without watching stranger things because i thought it would be too spooky for me despite literally everyone telling me to watch it because id love it and tbf they were right

I’m not sure why but the first thing I thought of when I saw IK was Stan from Okage Shadow King. probably because they are both shadowy fellows that and they both have big smiles/mouths as well as them both being a companion (probably not the right word but still) of sort throughout the game.

The Upturned is more of a middle child to the game It steals where it decided to focus on the main path of scariness but there are still some chaotic and tense things but it mainly focuses on frightening the player more than making it chaotic while the up turned did more chaotic things but much more tense and horrific as you have to escape from one room to another

I understand that this is a lethal company/the upturned video, but looking at your other videos I can understand you are a big fan of shooter games, especially ones that are just packed full of movement tech. And while you are mostly into first person, I think you should take a look at Risk of Rain 2. The games replayability is great, and it just gets straight up chaotic. - your friendly neighborhood game recommender Edit: there is also a new DLC coming out for the game soon

I finished upturned recently, and oh my god, i LOVED this game. It’s funky, fast, funny, all of the levels were SO fun to play, Ik and Srimp were just my fav guys, and the ending was suprisingly… Calm? Definitely not the thing that I expected from game like this, but i am happy with it. Was worth every cent

My personal favorite zeekerss game is definitely IT STEALS. its an incredible game that plays like pac-man and it has very unique monster behaviors! also, ive heard that the bracken behavior was based on the monster "Legs" from IT STEALS.
