Ive been waiting to make this video for quite a while!
Lethal Company came out of nowhere and quickly became one of my favourite games of 2023. And just before I started work making a video on it i saw that someone was working on a VR mod. So I decided to wait to make my video in Virtual Reality.
And Today is that day!
SO we're taking a look at the amazing Lethal Company VR mod and if you watch this video to the end im sure youll know if you would want to download it or not!

I searched for a VR mod the day I started Lethal Company, and found that there was an unfinished version in development (idk if it was the same one). Seeing this video excites me Edit: It was the same mod that I saw.

I actually tested this! If the non vr person installs the mod then they can see it! The problem was the VR player sees the non vr in T pose 🤣 maybe it'll be sorted for full release cuz that would be amazing!

I think one of the best parts of the game is the fact that the SINGLE DEV made it easy enough to mod, for people who want something more, or want something different. he could be bitching and moaning about it but he just lets us run wild.

Smart Developers knows what community wants and this is.. mods which makes game more funny or harder or whatever So allowing mods is the best way to boost the game popularity!

Yeah it makes perfect sense to me! Make a platform for others to make cool things. You get free content for your game and it also makes your game better at the same time all while the dev has done nothing himself :)

I believe by "not compatable" with the jetpack was that it didn't turn your perspective. It looks a lot easier to use the jetpack in VR than on compute since it doesn't move your perspective, and you can see the direction the jetpack is in.

Sadly non-vr players don't see your hand movements in VR and you can't emote. There are options in the mod manager to enable smooth turning, changing the hub to the screen and more

Yeah I tested this by putting the mod on a non vr players game. They could see the VR players hands moving but the VR player sees the non vr player t posing so it's not great. But maybe it'll be sorted for full release as it was a glitchy dev build? That's great to know that you can change smooth turning though thank you for the info

non vr people can install the mod, then disable vr mode in the config to see vr people's hand movements but not bug out for others@@RyanClifford

Seeing this made me genuinely excited for future game development, because fun VR gameplay does not need a VR exclusive games. Everyone else doesn't have to be in VR to play the game, in the end we just want to immerse ourself with VR while enjoying the games with friends.

@RyanClifford your friends can install the mod and change a config setting if in the files if they want to see your VR body. It's so much cooler being on desktop without a headset and seeing your VR buddies actually move!

probably the reason that the jetpack says it can't be used in vr is for motion sickness reasons, as flying through the air is like THE THING that you don't do in vr

It was a bit glitchy. If you aren't gentle with the controls the jetpack would randomly spin out of control. But as long as youre careful it's usable! But yeah id deffo only recommend if you've got your VR legs hahaha 😂

Note, for the terminal, you don't actually have to type the full word for the items you want in most cases, for example, for shovel you can just type in "sho" or "shov"

For most games with vr mods I find that the scale is different to what you actually expect, but in lethal company things are exactly the size you expect them to be

right? I found it a little interesting how well the scale just happened to work right in VR (especially as a VR dev myself who has to "dimension test" my models in VR to make sure they look accurate). My guess is the lethal company models were designed using real-world units of measurement instead of just eye-balling everything (like I do :P)

Some other mods are also compatible. One of which is the HD company mod! So I just increased game resolution to 1440p and it looks great in the headset :)

Tried VR but it just doesn’t work right for me, camera is constantly teleporting back and forth n uncomfortable and I tried fixing it for hours, but nice seeing it works out for others

I play on the index it's great I think the fact that the game is cell shaded really helps as it almost mitigates the aging resolution of the index!

At the time it wasn't out officially but it was playable hence I was able to make a video on it. Anyways it came out officially less than 24 hours after I posted this video. So you can indeed go play it with your friends now! :)

Zeekers, the dev of the game should pay this mod dev to implement it into the game for him. He's made over 20 million from the sales, so doing a bit of outsourcing would cost him pennies. Not that I'm one to tell people what to do with their money, but it'd bring in another crowd of people to the game because I've seen so many say in the Steam community forums that they'll buy it when VR is added. Just a thought 🤷‍♂

You don't need vr to use the vr mod, if you have it installed without using vr you can see other vr players moving their arms around and stuff

ive been trying to get mine working but i have an issue of the arms being suspended way above my head so i have to see if there is a mod conflicting with it

Check the mod compatibility list on lcvr GitHub. I had more emotes installed but it's incompatible with lcvr so I had to remove it

Only the VR player needs it. But if others get they can see the VR players arms moving about

Haha you didn't watch the video to the end did ya X :P It is indeed client side so your friends don't have to download it and you can still play with them in VR. But you may want them to as they will be able to see your hand movements! So id get your friends to download it too! Hope that helps :)
