Peter Paul Rubens is a real person (and different than Paul Reubens aka Pee-wee Herman). He was a 16th/17th century artist who was famous for painting voluptuous ("Rubenesque") ladies.

You should try them on black paper, the sparkle would really pop! Fabriano and Canson now make black watercolor paper🤓

To make the paints work better spray em with water a few min before using em and the well be softer

Fine-Tec paints are GLORIOUS, but yes you do need to let the water sit on them for a bit before you start to use them. They are BEAUTIFUL though, I love them!!

Since you asked, I like the pre-sketch idea phase as much as I like the coloring! I really enjoy listening to your conversations as you sound so cheerful when you banter. Idea (that you may have done before): you each do the three-thumbnail designs before you draw something, and then draw one of the thumbnails the other sketched. That may be neat. I have Crayola pearlescent acrylics from the signature series, and I actually love them. I use them in my bullet journal, and when I do more watercolours, I'll use it for accents ^-^.

YESSSSSSS I’M *LIVING* FOR ALL THESE SKETCHESS!!!! I always adore watching other artists sketch, it’s so relaxing for me haha. Don’t put yourself down Steph, I think your spiky ice princess came out super cute and I love her! Oh, and Adam quick tip since you don’t tend to do tiny thumbnails like Steph does; the reason you may have liked the original sketch better is because it was a lot looser than the finished drawing. You drew it a lot quicker and used looser lines originally, so it came out a bit more relaxed and dynamic. When translating a thumbnail into a finished piece it usually helps to try and be as loose as possible to try and recapture whatever it was you liked about the mini thumbnail! Honestly regardless I loved how both princesses came out, your styles are just so pretty and it makes me happy just to look at both of your artworks. ❤️ *nervous vibrating* I usually don’t comment because it gives me some mad social anxiety but I figure since the two of you are being brave with experimenting and having some real talks in your videos I’d be brave too (」゜ロ゜)」 And in case no one told you today; You’re valid. You’re trying so, so hard and you’re doing a wonderful job. I’m proud of you. I love you. this was super nice to see! Ive been eyeing these watercolours for months now its so nice to see the actual swatches and how they worked in an actual (and in both cases very cute) piece! ps: if youre wondering about the aquarius, the sign is based off the Greek myth about Ganymede. theres several versions but from my knowledge, Ganymede was a Spartan prince that Zeus fell for so he turned into an eagle and kidnapped him in that form. hes depicted as a waterbearer because after Zeus brought him to Olympus the boy became the divine waiter who poured the Olympian gods wine (also he had something inappropriate going on with Zeus when Hera wasnt looking).

Aaa pretty shimmering princesses, I can imagine the both of em hanging out to make cute ice scultpures- water princess bends the water into shape and ice princess freezing them! Also, whenever I use metallic watercolors I keep a spray bottle on hand and give the colors a lil sprits before I paint with them- they tend to get creamy and easier to work with like that :D (allow the paints to dry again before storing, mould is scary)

I can totally see Steph's Igloo Princess as a patron Goddess of the Lost: she guides the souls who lose their way in the snow to shelter in her igloo dress until the blizzard passes and they can return safely home to their loved ones.
