I realize I’m very late for the show…but had to say thank you for sharing this. Here we are nearing two years into this pandemic with no sign of normalcy in the foreseeable future. Without having to stay home, I’m happy to say yesterday I made my first collage masterboard on the back of a 12x12 sheet of scrapbook paper. I’m no where near being done with it but I have to admit I could’ve torn and glued for days! This is a great idea using a simple booklet. I may not leave the house for weeks😊 Bless your overthinking. Stay well❤️

This a great twofold idea, both a relaxing activity and an ultimately useful item. It will be a “collage stock book” that can be used like you would use any other sheet of decorative paper. Thanks, as always, for the inspiration! 😊

I know this is an old video but had to say I enjoyed it. I love the idea of a masterboard book. When I do my masterboards, I glue down all my neutrals.. book pages, music etc in rectangles and then I add the odd shaped colors, florals, etc. Then I don't have to cover them or I can with just another book page.

Went back to find this as I watched you tear your first page out! Gonna start one. I love making collages, but they just sit there....if I have a book, I can play and then store easily. TFS

I love to hear your thoughts on current events while you paste. It seems that while we keep one part of our brain busy, the other becomes much more productive and less likely to get bogged down. I find these videos to be motivating. Thank you! And they keep me company while I work my way through my mess! LOL!

Great concept. I made a mini book with coffee dye paper and filled it with faux postage stamps; so stamps are ready to go. But this masterboard book of course is next level: always looking ahead crafting. The idea of having it organized in a book it genius. I tend to switch themes in my JJ often which means one all encompassing masterboard may not always work. Perhaps each page having its own theme to organize "post project clean up". Then one day the page will be full and ready to use. Of course there will be those eclectic pages with mixed themes. Pages that turn out awesome can become a digital file , the rest turned into tags, bands etc. Great idea! I thank you!

Tina what a great idea!! The key is to not think very long about what you pick...just trust your instinct. If you don't like the outcome...toss it. I've collaged the inside of old shabby hat boxes..adding some of my pressed flowers. The majority of scraps come from 1880s black & white prints & music papers. It sure is a wonderful way to relax...even using old gift boxes will help clear out old prints & papers that are too delicate to use on anything else.

Thanks for this. What I do is scan the finished collage pages and then reprint on copy paper so the thickness is reduced and you can paste pieces of the collage into a junk journal. Sort of “collaging collage”. If that makes any sense.

Wonderful idea Tina! I spied some oldies but goodies in the papers you were using. This type of collage book has potential to be used in so many different ways. Something to flip thru for whole pages to make pockets, tags and tucks or even bits and pieces to make clusters, altered paperclips. Oh my! You had me cracking up 🤣 Double-sided scrapbook paper...the hoarding struggle is real in my craft room “stroking papers...my precious...” kind of like that big rose piece you glued down 😂 I actually clapped and cheered you on WOOT! No stress, even if, you as you say “dither or muck about” in the end if you feel good about the end result, well there you have it. IMHO just because you are filming please don’t ever lose sight of the fact that it is still YOUR time, YOUR art and YOUR efforts. All of which, I very much appreciate that you share with our crafting community. ❤️ A little story...In the past I had trouble with my tacky glue working fine when I first opened it, but after being “capped shut” over time I would end up mutilating the top with stick pins, poky tools and scissors or shaking the bottle while begging the glue to behave. That is until I visited my BFF in Florida, after a long crafting day I was poking the glue bottle (as usual) when she told me to just put a bit of water in and shake it good. 🧐 Why didn’t I think of that... she informed me that with different temperatures the bottle expands or shrinks allowing air in the cap, thus the glue loses moisture. It was at that point I realized that I’m friends with a genius. 🤪 ok enough silliness. I agree that there is a high possibility of some underlying social issues stemming from people isolating, I too am not a therapist or in the medical field. I can only agree from personal knowledge. Tina as always, thank you for sharing yourself and art with us. Praying you and your family are safe and happy. 🌻 Hugs, Debra Marie

Talking about the picture you were hoarding, I have some of those and haven’t managed to use them. I think this book is a great idea to use them up, I could scan the page if I wanted to so never have to cut it up. Thanks for the idea, a book of my special images just for me. I’m in lockdown but I do a quick grocery run every fortnight. We did this yesterday and both my husband and I got back in the car with a sigh of relief and agreed we were really stressed. So many people take no notice of the social distancing in our area because earlier on we had only nine cases of covid 19, all were recently returned from overseas, all have recovered and there have been no new cases. I think they believe they are safe now. I’m starting to feel the pressure after more than 8 weeks but am loving the craft time, I miss the rummaging around in thrift shops looking for treasures, though goodness knows I don’t need any more. Thanks for your company and inspiration. 😀💐💕

Certain junk mail, meaning low gloss & heavier, would work. If you don't have a book as shown in the video, take these junk mail papers and put a bulldog clamp on all the loose pages and go from there as if it's a book. Or even staple one corner to attach them

I'm over a month into being quarantined and I've taken over the dining room table and TV for these. I took a huge pile of scraps and loose papers and divided them in piles of "color families." Each over-sized collage used the scraps from just one of the piles. I live alone and there is no reason to pick this up, I can just sit down at any time and choose a movie to watch and away we go! Yours, confined in the book is so much neater than my pile! (I thought I could insert a photo, but I can't figure out how to do that.

I would love these as digital prints. I don't have pretty paper scraps. I mostly have scrap strips. I keep my kit pages together in a ziplock bag because you could make 2 or 3 journals from one kit. My biggest fear would be running out of glue. I stocked up on glue and bought 2 big packages of glue sticks. I have been working in the backyard on the garden and we are doing some landscaping. I have been cooking more and making banana nut bread. You can still scan them and make them into tags and tuck spots, or envelopes... ❤❤❤

If you only have strips, you could weave them to form an interesting background maybe? Or squares within squares if that makes sense, do they call that concentric? Is that the right word? Or cut the strips into small rectangles and glue them on like bricks or tiles... Brickwork, subway, herringbone, parquet patterns etc? Just an idea that came to mind! 😁

I will be weaving some. I just went through all my scraps and some of them I can stamp sentiments on. Thank you for your suggestions ❤

I know what you Laura, the glue thing was worrying me too, but I managed to get several bottles. However, I am now worrying that I might run out of bling! Lol the things that we call essentials! Haha x

What a fantastic idea Tina, thank you for showing us! I don’t mind staying at home but I’m in one of the vulnerable groups who has been told to stay home for 12 weeks!! I fear by then agoraphobia will set in as the thought of going out petrified me after just 3 weeks. I know it should be one day at a time I need to convince myself though! xxx💕

Oh Susie, much love to you at this difficult time. I totally get the acrophobia thing, I am the same and am having to force myself to do a bikeride every few days for the exact same reason x
