"Ya didn't know you were coming with Mike Rowe today, did'ya...." Chris, THAT was a "Kodak moment," especially when you followed it with... "Are you ready for lunch?" All you needed to find, after lifting the top of that septic tank - was a body inside! Was that your boy operating the Volvo for the first time? Like I always told my flight students when they couldn't fly the plane with the relaxed skill I demonstrated; you can't have 100 hours in your logbook until you've entered ten hours, ten times. GREAT video, Mon Ami....

The guest appearance was really good to see. It shows how Chris is Butter-Smooth. There obviously is the familiarity Chris has with his machine which is ever so pleasing to watch. And giving the young-guns a taste in a big-boy and helping them along the way is a testament to Chris' personality.

I have no idea who that kid was operating your Volvo excavator. I like his style. When he picked the large slab with the bucket and thumb and split it, he realized immediately that things didn't go the way he anticipated. Upon a second try he aced it. Gathering the kid is attending a tech school. He has potential, with learning from a a great operator, Chris!

These younger generations needs more people like Chris who is willing to teach someone a trade that will opens the door to where they can go anywhere in the world to use what they have learned. There's more to life than wanting play professional sports or acting or even some type of rapper to where you can have it all one day and the next it's all gone.

Correct, in my eyes you are not a senior operator / driver until you are willing and able to show the rookies how things should be done and what the tricks and catches of the job are. There is nothing worse than an experienced yet arrogant guy who just picks holes in everyone else but never shows anyone a damn thing.

I fully agree. I'm 30 and have been operating equipment about 10 years now. I've self taught most of it but you don't really learn the right way to do things. The old hats at work that gave me the opportunity to "git on in there boy and run this thing a minute. Lemme show you how it works" are who I owe it all to. Channels like this are so beneficial too because seeing so many ways to do the same task helps tremendously. Trades should be taught more than emphasizing on college prep

They appear to be building a new house on the lot, hence the need to remove everything. Last thing you want is crap buried under a house that's just been demolished because of a dodgy foundation!
@cathiwim
@cathiwim 2 жыл бұрын
Some ijit actually did this in a subdivision nearby, and built a house ON the DUMP SITE! After two homeowners bought and sold the property within 2 years, because of basement floor leaks and cracked foundation, the property was condemned. But someone came along, bought it, and before he was there very long, i knocked on the door and asked if he knew about the foundation issues. He had not. So i filled him in, and he was able to get his money back. Then someone else came along, and i told them about it, and he spent a LOT of money, got the foundations fixed as well as he could, and is still living there 5 years later. The original developer had dug a hole(and it was a low spot for that 30 acres) and put all the tree stumps in it from building the rest of the lots. We watched him do it. This was the last lot,and he put a house on it!
