I guess you don’t understand how business works or have listened to Chris’ videos. He literally said he worked with Volvo to try and get a machine when he bought the Hyundai and they were not able to find anything. Can’t magically make a machine appear out of thin air.

Hahahaha...... Volvo should have gave him the same deal as this 350 for a brand new 460 that I think would be a better fit for him, but that's just my opinion. Either way Volvo should make sure Chris is always using Volvo excavators & haul trucks for marketing reasons. He's a good operator, has a good attitude, runs a good business, and puts out good videos with a growing subscriber list. 💪👍🍻🇺🇲

Well, it seems like he always had this excavator planned on coming he ordered it new.

​. It's a year and a half lead on new equipment these days. It's going to several more years for the supply chain to finally get fully straightened out for manufacturers to get caught up with demand plus on lot equipment to sell. At least prices have come down to inflation adjusted pre-pandemic prices. Immediately after the pandemic ended prices were thru the roof on used equipment. Clint at his C&C equipment channel explained it on one of his auction videos.

@@jerrymclean8075 A lifetime in the construction trade has shown me that there are indeed many wood butchers calling themselves carpenters. But my original comment was never meant as a negative towards carpenters, it was meant simply as a bit of banter shared between tradesmen.

Volvo was already building this i bet when he got the Hyundai. He needed a bigger one right then , so he got what was available at the time. Volvo doesnt worry about what one guy buys, even if he has a popular channel. Most of his viewers arent in the market to buy a new Volvo. Now, if some big construction company or mining outfit was about to spend several millions of dollars on new equipment, you can bet they would start reaching out and playing along.

My thoughts to. Old Barney is gonna work up a sweat working with this new machine. I’m sure this has crossed his mind.

Barney is still a good size for most of Chris' jobs and is in good condition. Barney also fits in tighter spots than a larger truck and has a tighter turning radius. Barney is DEF free!

I said the same thing! Chris is The Only Man on You Tube that puts in the time in labor proving over and over again a level of adeptness and integrity, dedicated to doing every job the best it can be. His work ethic is second to none. Period!His name will become akin to a job well done.

If anyone is actually interested in buying this expensive of a machine, they most likely have been operating one for a while and already know what they are looking for. Now people that are looking for one most likely could be on here searching for reviews and channels using the machine to see how they like it and that could be of use but its not very many people in total. Its still sweet to see Chris doing so well and getting another new rig !!

Mikes business does a lot more smaller jobs , some of them in cramped areas. It seems that when Mike has a larger dirt moving job, like some of the bigger ponds, he goes to the 850's to move mass quantities of dirt. 2 different ways and both work.

As fun as that would be a 550 is to hard to transport to be practical for the kind of work Chris does. Chris said almost exactly the same thing at the end of the job where Volvo let him demo a 550. Key part of the job was Volvo paid the transport bill and sent their mechanic to put the machine in/out of transport mode.

That's what I'm thinking, too. A grapple saw would make this type of work considerably more efficient and safer. It's pretty awesome to see how much he's been able to accomplish in a few short years.

I'm not so sure. It's much easier to get big stumps out of the ground when they still have the tree attached for leverage. Perhaps the new attachment is a stumper with a thumb that doesn't get in the way.

Fuel and DEF costs are passed through to the customer. Chris runs his equiptment efficiently enough that those costs are minimized.

Well, the governments got to get their tax money from the diesel and the commie juice. If they get their way the next excavator he buys will have a 50’ windmill sticking up off the back and in place of steel panels it’ll be covered in solar panels.
