I like to mix a bit of the salsa verde with hummus and a bit of water for a delicious sauce/dressing for salads, roasted veggies and grains. Yum!!

I did not know you could simply put your popcorn into a microwave with a microwaveable plate on top like that! That's what I shall do then, thanks, Maddie. I haven't had popcorn in ages... That was really interesting. I wish we had Trader Joe's in the UK - I always see people with such interesting products that look really delicious and would make me experiment even more with food. All those organic things would be wonderful, too.

Yes it’s a great snack hack! Enjoy! Hahaha I hear you about having different things in the US than the UK… because I feel the same way about you guys! You have so many cool vegan things come out before us! 😆😆 I just saw some vegan Easter candy launched in the UK that I was drooling over! Lol. The grass is always greener on the other side I guess. 😂

Aww thank you! I have been using the black garlic almost every day so far! I am using it as a topping on a lot of my regular dishes (like Buddha bowls, soups, tacos, etc.). It blends in nicely! I’m sure you’ll be seeing it upcoming vids too. 🤩🤩

I also live in Canada and when I get the chance to visit the US, Trader Joe’s is always a must-visit. My go-to snack purchase from TJ’s are the Thai lime & chili cashews…dangerously addictive 😋

great video Maddie! you may want to research the topic of acrylamide with regards to processed food snacks. realize those foods are engineered for maximum profit, which is never in your best interest. my favorite snack is frozen banana with peanut butter, or frozen raspberries with almond butter which is way more expensive

Still watched Maddie even though 😭 sadly there's no Trader Joes in the UK. Good selection of yummy 😋 food and another awesome video. My favourite treat is anything from the Wicked Kitchen brand in Tesco. Love 🥰 the video and love 💞❤ Maddie & Q.

Ohhh I have not seen the sriracha spice but I’m going to check it out! I buy the vegan pesto to go on their cauliflower gnocchi and brown rice pastas. I am addicted to the sunflower seed cups lol. It’s over an hour drive so I’m not sure about trying the ice cream but looks delicious.

Just stopped at TJs today! They have a brand new snack in the chip aisle that is super crave worthy. It is called Mee Krob Crackers (Thai Rice Noodle Snacks). 😋 It makes me think of savory Thai Rice Krispie squares. They mixed up rice noodles, cashews and shallots with sweet and savory Thai seasonings, pressed it in a pan, then cut it into little bars. Just like tiny Rice Krispie squares, but SO savory and flavorful. Love them! I think I will try to come up with a slightly healthier version…they are that good. I love so many of their vegan options. The vegan meat-lovers pizza is really good. Their Indian food is wonderful and they have a Samosa burrito in the deli area that is so good. It’s seasonal for some reason, available in the fall and winter, I believe.The kale and basil pesto is great on toast. The roasted onion spread is also delish. I like their vegan feta (as long as we are talking about rich and higher fat options). 😎 The also carry Vegan Boursin but it’s pricey enough that it makes me want to make a dupe at home. We like the rice filled dolmas (canned) as well.

I finally made my first trip to a Trader Joe’s and grabbed the tomato and red onion focaccia… omg, it’s soooo good. The reason for my trip was to get the vegan ravioli, excited to try that next.

You're making my mouth water! We're on a really tight budget for the next month. We just moved to a new apartment and you know how that can tighten your wallet. Lol! But whatever is around next month, I will have to try! But I already have those yummy spices. Now I just have to see what delicious food I can make with them over the next month!

Always inspiring to see what they have in your country, and have your honest opinion about these foods. Have never tasted uzu, sounds nice. Harissa! it's so good isn't it. I like your approach to having the odd snack, you certainly have plenty of knowledge of whole food cooking and balance is good for the soul. Another great topic.

Aww thank you!! I’m not sure I had tried yuzu before this either.. except in a drink once! It’s quite nice, citrusy was pretty lemony in the ice cream… but not sour if that makes sense. 😅😅 And harissa! Yes!! Q and I are both obsessed with it now. 😆😆 Thanks for your comment about the snacks, I totally agree balance is the most important and I definitely will never shy away from occasional vegan treats. 😊

Wow, you had to go all the way to Buffalo for Trader Joe’s! I have mine 15 minutes away, I gotta appreciate it more now lol. Those sunflower butter cups are so yummy 😋 I also like their vegan tika masala and Japanese rice once in a while. So good! ❤

I found sun dried tomatoes without oil at Farm Boy. Have you tried the President’s Choice World of Flavour dark chocolate bars? They have a may contain milk and egg (they have different flavours so you read each one). I love the mango cardamom bar and the caramelized cocoa nibs and coffee bar. I keep them in the freezer and crack off a square.

I absolutely love Trader Joe’s cream cheese! I hope you like it to. There’s only one negative thing about it, it is not as spreadable as regular cream cheese but the flavor is wonderful. I have it all the time on toast with tomatoes and everything but the bagel seasoning. I have tried all vegan cream cheeses myself the best one is violife, cream cheese, and it’s my favorite. But it’s very expensive so Trader Joe’s works perfectly for me.

I make a recipe with harissa and italian dressing that goes over grain, greens, beans dishes. It's pretty good. Other than that, I've never used harissa for much.

@@LetsEatPlants Harissa Sauce - 2 TB cayenne pepper, 1 TB ground cumin, 1 tsp ground caraway seeds 1 clove garlic 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 c fat free Italian dressing Not sure how the trader joes product would work with the Italian dressing or the ratios. I use the HS in chickpea soup - 1/2 c bulgur, 4 cups vegetable broth, 2 15 oz cans chickpeas 2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp harissa sauce 1 10 oz bag spinach. Boil bulgur and 3 cups veg broth, take 1 cup veg broth and drained chickpeas and blend until smooth in a blender. Add all to pot, with remaining can of chickpeas, spices, spinach. Return to boil then simmer until bulgur soft, 5-10 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges.

Hey, love your channel! I shop at TJ's all the time here in Michigan, the prices are amazing compared to whole foods or other natural markets near me. One comment though about the lentil curls. Last couple of times I bought them, they had a very weird chemical smell and taste. Don't know if they were rancid, etc. Wonder if anyone else noticed that. Blessings!

Right!? They always have such great prices. 😊 Oh interesting about the lentil curls! I didn't notice that with ours, but good for others to be aware of it. Also, you can always return items like that back to TJ's and they'll help you out with an exchange for the item or a refund. They take their quality control very seriously!

Yes it’s a good place to shop, even just for regular grocery items! I didn’t get a lot of produce or anything like that since it’s obviously easier & cheaper to get it at home, but if you’re visiting the US it would be a good place to get those regular items too. 😊 Good question! I am not 100% oil-free so I don’t mind to have snacks and occasional treats that aren’t fully WFPBNO. I try to cook quite healthily at home, but even at home I do occasionally use oil. I just reduce where I can! 🤗

Do you avoid eating oil? Is there a particular reason, or just a preference? I am trying to have vegetarian meals more often, but I find I feel better eating a ton of fat - maybe that's just me though because I am allergic to wheat and have some difficulties with some other carbs as well.

Great question! Generally no, I don’t avoid it.. but I have greatly reduced it since starting to eat more whole food plant based! There have been many doctors who have shown how unhealthy it actually is. However there are lots of whole food fats that definitely should still be eaten! (Nuts, seeds, avocados, etc.) Check out Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. Greger if you want more info about why they recommend no oil. 😊

Tofutti cream cheese is good but I haven't seen it anymore it,,one of the first cream cheeses ,,,,miyoko may have come out with one or there are youtubers that teach u how to make your own

I may be the only one... but I personally was not a fan of Tofutti's cream cheese! And I like a lot of their other products. It was too mayo-tasting for me. 😂😂 But I did really end up liking TJ's cream cheese! Miyoko's is good as well. 😋

Oh wow! Hahaha. Definitely check out TJ’s if you’ve never been! Maybe it’s also a nostalgia thing for me since I’ve been going there since I was a kid… but I do feel they have great prices, and lots of great vegan options too! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
