It wasn't until the end when I read the description that I discovered that it was a fictional response, from a book written by Ms. Adichie. I was initially disappointed, hoping that there really existed a young woman who would think of responding to a marriage proposal in such a wonderful, cheeky, gentle, loving way. But I quickly realized that the young woman was Chimamanda herself, and that made me happy.

Sometimes our accent changes a bit, subconsciously When we move to a new area or are around different regional dialects, we tend to mimic the sounds that we hear around us. This helps us to fit in. It's called bidialectalism and it's mostly subconscious.

I loved Enid Blyton until the story about Sambo (a black doll) who stopped being discriminated against by the other toys when he was left in the garden and the black on his skin washed off with rain leaving a white skin. He was then loved by all the other toys....

Yep. Except with me, I proposed to my man. I am not one to go with tradition, we've been together for over 15 years now. Ours was great, nuts, done at a rock concert, I texted in my proposal over the main marquee stage during his favourite song. It's all about the details.
