This is very similar to David Hawkins letting go teachings. Where you actively feel the feelings, letting them be, until they eventually let go and surrender to your inner consciousness

All of people here misunderstood Rupert. You cannot bring feelings closer. It is physically impossible. They are already part of you. What you can do is you can stop resisting them. And I am deeply and most vitally interested how to do it! If anyone knows some method please share!

I find that Rupert, and other teachers like Moojibaba, and Lucille all bring their own unique wisdom to the table of being. Moojibaba was an introduction for me, a smooth easy invitation. Rupert I a more precise tool, used to hone in and define. And Luccille is a sergeon, dissecting and promoting deep introspection. The universe provides, we receive when open.

You don't need to "LET GO" anything unpleasant to you, everything "GOES" away when it becomes fully solved, fully resolved, fully suffered and fully worked upon, when all the BACK PULL and INTERFERENCE of the unpleasant gets released from you, when all the agitative VIBRATIONS of the unpleasant leaves you. LET GO needs EFFORT and RESISTANCE which everytime ends up in failure, the ACCEPTANCE of this failure and unconditional SURRENDERING to this failure helps the unpleasant to GO AWAY effortlessly and irresistibly.

For what it’s worth here’s what I do with unpleasant feelings: First I imagine they are a part of me representing a hurt and abandoned puppy which I could never push away Then I observe them so close as to infuse them with a sense of “I”. Not the idea of them but the actual sensation in the body is filled with “I”. And then the Self absorbs them. They integrate. When they are accepted by the Self, they loose any separate nature. You love them as Self.

One doesn't need to push the emotion away or resist or embrace the feeling!!!....The feeling shows up as a threat to the ego,and the ego tries all sorts of tricks and methods to dismantle the danger the feeling poses and in this process,misses the thing that ego is ACTUALLY supposed to do with that emotion!!!....The Emotion is an indicator of what may be wrong in our body-mind complex or our interaction with the external world and our response to it is an indicator of how good/bad the Ego and intellect are at dealing with the problem intelligently and compassionately!!!....So the feeling ,the cause that triggered that and the response that ego exhibited to that feeling need to be examined,evaluated to gain deeper self knowledge!!!.....

Meditation means to be constantly extricating yourself from the clinging of mind. By letting go of even the thought 'I,' and 'me' what is left? There is nowhere to stand and no one to stand there. No separation anywhere. Pure awareness. Neither this, nor that. Just clarity and being. ~Ram Dass 🙏🏽

It all comes down to looking fear (as a blanket term for all ”negative“ emotions) in the eye. When a monster hunts you in a nightmare, it will be terrifying and you will try to run away. However, and quite counterintuitively so, if you actually find the courage to stop running, turn around and face it, it will stop being a threat and disintegrate before your very eyes.

Love Rupert. The thing is, feelings are reactions to thoughts. They do not arise in awareness of themselves. So one must observe the thoughts with extremely alert but calm attention. The idea is not to allow any linkage of a feeling to the thought. Rupert has confessed that he loves thinking. This may not be a problem for him, but for most people, Eckhart Tolle’s emphasis on becoming aware of the thoughts, and not to think compulsively is critically important. One observes thoughts arising, without linkages, in meditation.

I found it interesting that to the frog Prince there is a common version, at least in germany, in which the princess throws the frog to the wall in disgust instead of kissing him and that turns him into the prince. There are good psychoanalytic interpretations for this that have to do with the emancipation of the daughter to the father (who demands of her to fulfil her promise) and also the prince to his mother (who as a witch kept him in the well). So i always wondered where that kiss the frog thing came from. But of course it works just fine in Rupert's analogy.

I don't know what's going on then, I have no problems with having my feelings get close at all, in fact they are so close to me all the time that I am told I have problems with emotional regulation. I'm ALWAYS in touch with my feelings, I kiss all the toads and NONE of them have become princes yet. NONE. I kiss them, hug them, feed them... I am more than intimate with them... they are devouring me. And I am so tired. I am so so so so so tired...there must be something wrong with me, some piece is missing! You have no idea how tired I feel of all of this.

By kissing the toad. It means to bring them in so close that you don’t see them. Stop looking at your feelings. You’ve already devoted enough time to them by giving them attention. The point is to first feel them out as to see there’s nothing to be afraid of or resist. Then you lovingly ignore them because you are no longer bothered by their presence.

It helps me to just become deeply present, stop thinking about them, stop labelling them. You may only be able to do this for very short moments at first at first, before the 'toads' appear again, but keep doing it, when you remember, and eventually awareness becomes more constant. The toads don't bother you so much. You begin to see these feelings as just energy - awareness itself.

So, in practical terms, bringing your feelings even closer than looking at them basically means ”being aware of being aware of the feeling“ (i.e. maintaining one’s awareness of being aware while also being aware of the feeling), right? Just double-checking my takeaway from this clip. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone.
@emendatus1
@emendatus1 3 жыл бұрын
You cant bring it closer, because the feeling is the choppiness of awareness. Waves in the ocean of awareness. There are made out of awareness. The real job is to stop resistance, or to stop pushing away them. And how to do it if someone knows please illuminate.

But the necessary, vital info which is required to do the job he hides. In fact resistance is normal for our condition. When something hurts me, I naturally try to avoid it. How can I stop resistance when something is hurting me, causing harm? If there is some method then please explain fully, dont hide anything.
