My dad was tragically taken from me on the 30th of April 2020 in a car crash. He adored level 42, he has kept all his ticket stubs and book. He must of seen them over 50 times. The music is the only thing making me feel close to him.

How how can it be that a love Carved out of caring fashioned by fate Could suffer so hard From the games played much too often But making mistakes is a part Of life's imperfections Born of the years Is it so wrong to be human after all (Oh drawn into the stream) (Of undefined illusion) (Those diamond dreams) (They can't disguise the truth) That there is something about you Baby so right I wouldn't be without you Baby tonight If ever our love was concealed No one can say that we didn't feel A million things And a perfect dream of life Gone, fragile but free We remain tender together If not so in love, it's not so wrong We're only human after all (Oh these changing years) (They add to your confusion) (Oh and you need to hear the time) (That told the truth) Because there's something about you (And now the way you are tonight) Baby so right I couldn't live without you (I couldn't live without you) Baby tonight! (Here tonight) Yeah (Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh) (Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh) And now there's something about you (Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh) Yeah Yeah And I couldn't live without you (Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh) To night

[Verse 1: Mark King] How, how can it be that a love Carved out of caring, fashioned by fate Could suffer so hard From the games played once too often? But making mistakes Is a part of life's imperfections Born of the years Is it so wrong to be human after all? [Pre-Chorus] Drawn into the stream Of undefined illusion Those diamond dreams They can't disguise the truth [Chorus] That there is something about you Baby so right I wouldn't be without you baby tonight [Verse 2: Mark King] If ever our love was concealed No one can say that we didn't feel A million things And a perfect dream of life Gone, fragile but free We remain tender together If not so in love It's not so wrong We're only human after all [Pre-Chorus] These changing years They add to your confusion Oh and you need to hear The time that told the truth [Chorus] Because there's something about you Baby so right I couldn't be without you Baby tonight I know there's something about you Baby And I couldn't live without you Tonight

Remember when this came out and didn't take that much notice at the time, but I am now catching up again with L42 and have watched this several times and realise what a clever video it is. Probably their best one. MK genius as ever.

Hell yes.. what a jam still in 2024.. unforgetable music, sadly never to be repeated. Kids these days will just never understand what great music they missing out.. just listening to today's bubble gum music. Gone are days where we listened to music that meant something and never got stale. ❤

Listening to this I remembered that when this was played on radio I was just a 7-8 years kid . Life was so simple and beautifull then . No worries , no time running away ... I miss those times!

The current year already has far better music. 80s are still good, but nowhere near as good what we have now. (Not talking about mainstream pop)

Thats Cheri Lunghi, i fancied her so much in the manageress. As a tune, it makes me emotional. Long story, but my uncle who was my replacement father figure introduced me to level 42 and world machine. It has an extra meaning and significance.

RIP Boon Gould, one of the most iconic songs of the 80s was "something about you". I saw Level 42 live at Wembley Arena in 1987, when this song came on the place was jumping. Why don't they make music like this anymore?
