I like how assignments worked in bf4, where you just have to play the game to unlock assignments instead of selecting them separately. It was simple and easy

"In one round", "In one life", "On a Tuesday", "When your second child is born" "While prone", "In objective areas", "While getting blown up with a PIAT", "During tax season"

Complete Any 2 : Get one headshot in an objective area while prone on an air plane Or melee kill one enemy player while disarming an objective in Firestorm Or get 4 road kills in one life with your monitor turned off

Oh you want a little bit of gold on your gun? No problem. 75 headshots from the liberator in 1 life between 100 and 110 meters while jumping in mid air while your enemy is within 10 meters of an objective area with out being in the objective area.

I have over 50 assignments, and I don't think I will ever complete them.

the "in one life" and "in objective areas" ones are so rediculous, it took me probably 20+ hours to complete one of these for the gold mp40

Man, yesterday was a pain. Had my assignments setup for Medic. Then when I was playing with my friend, I went support for multiple games, therefore had to switch my assignments for that role.

Also to the level 3 player who killed me when I had 9 out of 10 kills in objectives area thanks I nearly broke my mouse

the gold assignments need to be a number of kill only also the assignements should track without needing to be selected the selection should be only used to see the progression like in battlefield 1 that's the only changes that are needed imo Also making the weapon assignement switching to the following can be done because this is how tides of war challenges so DICE should apply the same thing to weapons assignements the assignement for the MAB 38 and the one for the m1 carbine made me rage so much that the tchat was full of insults everytime

Can we talk about how you have to complete 5 to 6 challenges for weapon camo? Remember in mw2 when you just needed to complete one challenge to unlock an entire camo for a gun? Why split the camo up into different segments? Seems like such a needless over-complication no one ever wanted.

Lets mention my favorite surprise mechanic in this game. When you unlock a new gun, and have to go back to the armory first before you can use it!

Progression and assignments are just a joke now in this game. I really hope they go back to BF3 BF4 style assignments and let them all track simultaneously, they weren't perfect but far better than BFV

It’s things like this which make the game too laborious for me to enjoy playing. This game has regressed in so many ways compared to past BF games that it’s honestly laughable

The assignments demotivated me to get gold skins for weapons

They should simply reward you with mint set after 300 kills and with gold set after 600 kills when you get the dog tag as well.

I stopped doing the stupid weapon assignments all together because of the insane requirements. It's not worth making one to stop playing the objective in my opinion.

I remember completing assignments in BF3, I didn't have to quit for the to track new ones, or new steps. It just worked. In 2011.

Haven't played BF5 for a while...and they still have not changed the needs of quitting the game to switch assignments? I think I will never come back...

They NEED to make them changeable ingame also categorising them in the menu under different types would be appreciated instead of one long list

The problem is that dice constantly change these systems which already worked great in previous titles. A complete downgrade of how things used to function.

Imagine the strugle of xbox/ps players, getting 10 or 20 headshoot kills is almost imposible. Hope that dice will listen and change some requirements.

100% agree this could help bring people on wanting to play BFV. I've had problems too when sometimes it doesn't even notice that I did something even when I have the assignment tagged and do exactly what it says to do.

Totally agree with everything you said Level. Just faced the same issue about "assignments that don't fit the weapon" with the FG42. I really enjoy playing this weapon, but being asked to kill 20 players in 1 round with bipod deployed or 60 over all for that type of weapon is litteraly against the playstyle i'm looking for while I use my FG42, funny thing is right after the "deployed bipod assignment" comes the "20 kills while prone" what a variety... I basically gave up the assignment cause I got bored and just kept playing my FG42 the way I like it the most. Thanks for your video and keep up the good work !

Thank you Cap! I'm glad you keep talking about that. It is also a big problem for me. I write that down in every DICE/EA survey. In BF1 they just made changes to the assignments after one year, I guess. (weekly assignments for BF1 currency)

Yep they still suck. I don't mind a challenge but they the majority of them shouldn't be as hard as getting the Gol Magnum on BF4. It's insane. I've stopped doing them for the most part.

Dude awesome topic. I am so irritated with those assignments. I want challenge but like u said i am sabotaging my team to succeed. And it is ridiculous that u can't pick assignments from in game it is a shame

I'd love to see more simple challenges for the assignments like we used to have, like "Get 500 kills with the weapon" etc. The way Black Ops 2 weapon challenges had it was amazing and they should really look into- and take some inspiration from that.

Best summary so far! Having challenges is great, but not when they counteract gameplay! Challenges that require camping an objective is just counterproductive! You'll see players prone in a corner for an entire match, just leaving the objective to make sure it stays in enemy hands so new targets will spawn in. Definitely needs a revision!!

levelcapgaming - thank you for specifically mentioning the semi auto rifle assignments, and self loading rifle assignments. These weapons' assignments, more than any other weapon class, are totally unrealistic and difficult. They also happen to be my favorite weapons to use. I love the model 8 because its small magazine challenges me to place hits carefully. The mastery step i am on demands i hit shots that ARE BEYOND THE WEAPONS SWEET SPOT. Similar to the Boyz, the kills at these ranges require an extra hit. So i have to hit three shots at range, that is very difficult for a slow self loader.

Over 400 hours and i still dont have my last for my Gewehr 43... Iam not a superpro Player and will never get it

Can we talk about how me and many other people have been experiencing enemy hit for over 100 on one single target regularly lately

This game is a disappointment in total.

I want to tear my hair out completing the 20 hip fire kills in one round/ 6 hip fire kills in one life. Forces me to change the way I play (in a way that’s punishing to play and not fun in the slightest). There’s also the option to have 6 hip fire kills in one single life which is just as ridiculous, forcing you to play in close quarters yet expecting to stay alive long enough to have 6, I repeat 6 HIP FIRE kills in ONE life. I can only count how many times I’ve died on the 5th hip fire kill. Absolutely frustrating.

I stopped caring about assignments and tides of war I just play to have fun, playing to complete assignments I’d like a choir and after a long day of school and work I don’t feel like focusing on completing assignments

Cap I've been doing some digging as i've been experiencing frame stutters recently similar to you. Turns out DICE has ended all of the UK servers and now we're all getting packet loss from the German servers! Hope you see this. My game exp has been ruined by this as BFV is basically unplayable for me now.

First, I want to say excellent quality of video as always, the gameplay you showed while you talked kept my mind occupied while I listened. Second, I wholeheartedly agree with you, that if Dice is holding back on improving this problem out of fear of repercussion from people that have completed the hard objectives, that is completely ridiculous. I hope Dice see some sense and make the changes that you suggested.

I think the bigger problem is the lack of AUTOBALANCE instead of not having gold weapons

Too many assignments. Awful UI. Only 4 active at a time. I just flat out ignore most assignments cuz they put pointless stress and force me into playstyles i dont enjoy

They also have a issue with once the assignment is finally done it won’t give you the reward for that assignment. (This really pissed me off because I worked really hard to try to finish the Holy Ghost assignment and I never got the rewards)

I agree strongly with everything you said. It becomes discouraging to the point that I just kind of forget about the assignments. I would also add that when it comes to picking an assignment there is no real organization to the myriad of choices. There should maybe be tabs across the top of the assignment page, one for each class, to make it easier to find ones specific for that class. So if I want to do an assignment for the Sten I just tab to the medic class and scroll down to the Sten and so on.

BF 5 is TRASH. BF 1 is TRASH. BF4 was the last good BF game. I hate to say it, but it feels like COD. Anything EA touch gets ruined. This is what happens when gaming companies lose sight of what gaming is all about. Run by business men that just want $$$$$ More focused on releasing the new skins or LOOT boxes than fixing the true problems and giving there loyal fans what they have been asking for since BF4.

Thanks for being our voice, these assignments are truly terrible. I always enjoyed the assignments in BF2 and how they just automatically awarded if you completed the criteria. Always made for a nice surprise for a medal or ribbon to appear on the screen. Even the rank system, all though a grind was fantastic.

Even if they don't change the assignments, just removing the 1 round objective and active assignment only problem would fix like 80% of it

I think another easy fix for objective based assignments is to enlarge the objective areas. Kinda like a completed jigsaw puzzle. It’s really frustrating to attack an objective with snipers just outside of the boundaries that even if you take them out, don’t count towards anything. Maps like devastation on conquest. The c flag doesn’t even encompass the entire cathedral. So now you have players camping all entrances but it’s until you get within 30 meters of the flag that kills count. Realistically the goal is to capture the map as a whole so even if you just caped a flag 50-100 meters away from that flag you would technically be attacking a new objective.

I'll never get a full gold skin with semi-auto rifles and bolt-action/self-loading rifles. It's just not feasible for an average BF player.

It's crazy you post this video 3 years ago an till this day am still upset how these assignments are terrible 20 headshots in a objective is ridiculous.

An assignment could read: Get 100 headshots in Objective areas or Get 10/20 headshots in objective areas, in 1 round/life. Therefore, you get the good players able to finish the challenge in one life or round, but you give a chance to the other players to grind the assignment. Both ways have an in-built level of difficulty and when completed the grinders and good players don't feel the others have an advantage. They have achieved something, with two different routes, both difficult in there own way.

i also have an assignement for dice : In one game release, make a games that is completly bug free, that has no micro-transactions, that have proper content and anti cheat. DICE : OH you guys are asking too much..

Totally agree. Assignments kill team play and playing the object goes right out the window. Players who are role specific, like me with medic, just start blowing off assignments, because they have nothing to do with the base gameplay. I miss out on skins and cc, but I don't use them much anyway.

Preach! I absolutely hated slogging through the Ribeyroyalle mastery assignments this weekend. It required a huge amount of offensive kills in 1 round so I had to sabotage my team as you described. Additionally, the assignments are just so uninspired and boring.

I absolutely agree with what you say. I've always been a play who's main goal everytime I play is to win the match. K/D doesn't matter and assignments don't either. But the times I've tried to finish assignments either in bf5 or anyother bf game it can be very frustrating and I give up. I'm not tryna lose a game over getting a new weapon skin. I wish other players felt the same way

Most Assignments are unlockable just by playing ‘Combined Arms’! Even when it’s just you versus the bots - while playing on Easy..! The Assignments that have either ‘objective area’ or ‘round’ in the description won’t work (because neither is in Combined Arms gamemode). Maybe something to think about... Great vids, keep up the good work!

Completely agree. There are even other fixes than those mentioned to keep it '"skill based" however. Like simply reducing the ridiculous counts (because that's clearly luck based on round length). Or making the entire map area of a TDM/combined arms an "objective area". Either way. Changes need to be made
