On the topic of promoting the world tour and the arcade quest: At the end of arcade quest after the player wins the fictional world tour or w/e, Harada should descend from the heavens like god, show the player a glimpse of another universe with another TWT, and its just a match of like Knee and Arslan playing, and then open a new window with the TWT schedule on it and kick the player to the online matchmaking screen with like a "Are you ready for the next battle?" So the player like graduates from the tutorial and is sent to the real world to play ranked and start entering majors.

Tekken 7 was indeed crazy. I‘m so glad it went the way it did after how small the competitive scene was for Tag 2. Thanks to all the competitors, TOs, commentators and spectators. We made this journey great together ❤

I already pre-ordered from Amazon but I definitely think it’s going to be more of a Tekken 8.0 for better or worse, and I think they will release in a reversal of tradition, the game will release in arcades which will be the DR/BR/FR of the game.

Per-ordered my copy off Amazon yesterday, stoked to try out my man Yoshi! Tournament was great, I can’t help but wish any of Ulsan/LowHigh/Rangchu would have made out through to faces Arslan. Good stuff to CBM, I just think the other guys would have matched up better. My favorite “era” of Tekken 7 had to be when Noroma stormed onto the scene. He won that tournament in Korea with ALL of the killers present and accounted for and he went on a bit of a tear for the better part of that year, mostly 2018 iirc. I wish he’d stuck around to face Arslan!, Would have been a great match!

swiss is probably one of the best tournament formats. i dont see it in fgc but its commonly used in TCG tournaments. Swiss then cut to top 8/16/32 single/double elimination bracket. round robin is monka

I used to like the idea of Round Robin. If you have a really small group then it's appropriate. But holy cow is it bad for even medium sized tournaments. There are so many weird matches where it's like "Well, the outcome of this match doesn't matter for the people playing" either because they already have too many or too few points. And weird gatekeepy matches where the results of the match only affect one of the players and another player that isn't even part of the match.

Ricky gets all the credit for being nasty at Tekken Ball because BL was spamming clearly OP moves with Ogre the whole time and Rickstah clutched on him. Ricky was *WAY* more sick in that set and it's not even close.

There's plenty of beginner friendly characters, not including the universal assist mode- limited as it is. Shaheen, Alisa, Claudio, Asuka, Jack's probably still pretty easy, Jun might be easy to pick up, and Victor is probably gonna be easy to play as well.

I think Round Robin is actually a really cool format, and I like it for TWT Finals. The only real downside of Round Robin is the occasional Match that has no stakes, when we know that one or both Players cannot advance or affect the standings. But that happens very infrequently due to the Head-to-Head Ruling. And Players that cannot advance can still play spoiler due to potentially affecting the higher Players' Points. This happened with JoeCrush vs Book. Book legitimately had a chance to make it out, but since Joe 2-0'd him, he dragged him down to Hell with him. The Head-to-Head Ruling is really good for shaking things up as well because of the potential for a Comeback late in the standings such as CBM did with Knee. CBM's ONLY chance at getting out on Winner's was to 2-0 Knee. Instead of a single Match deciding one thing, a single Match had 3 potential outcomes and is why I think Round Robin is exciting. Because Group D was competitive, it meant that the final Match was as follows: If CBM Loses at all, Knee goes in Winner's Daniel Mado goes to Loser's, if CBM wins 2-1, he gets in on Loser's and Knee goes in on Winner's, but if Knee gets 2-0'd, they are equal in Points, and CBM goes in Winner's above Knee due to the Head-to-Head. It's an eloquent system that works very well. I think the reason people think it's confusing is because there are hype matches and commentary distracting everyone from thinking about it. The Head-to-Head Ruling also prevents Tiebreaker Matches, because they are built into the system. Round Robin is sick for TWT, and I'd be a little miffed if they took it out personally.

I'm with Aris, Round Robin is a dinosaur format. You guys seem confused, it has nothing to do with being hard to follow. Something can be difficult to follow and still hype (like Marvel). The fatal problem with Round Robin is that it's extremely long, tedious and boring. Saudi Arabia did a round robin for SF6 and it kinda worked because SF6 matches end so fast, but with Tekken it just drags out. And we all know only a few of those hundred games are actually hype to watch. So it's devastating for viewership. Nobody actually wants to watch an 8 hours round robin except for the hardcore mega invested players. For viewers it's basically another word for pools. Wake me up when we're in top 32.

That just wasn't true with Ulsan tho. Ulsan pushed Arslan to the very limit of his capabilities. Not just at TWT 2023, but at EVO as well.

T8 might be really exciting in that sense because of the up and comers from T7 like Ulsan, JoeCrush, and Shadow- who beats Arslan very consistently, they could be the big names of T8. I'm sure as well as others I'm forgetting.

Arlsan beat Joe Crush in Dreamhack 2022 Grand Finals. Arslan lost to Joe recently though but he has beaten Joe multiple times before. Arslan's score against Shadow is 3-2 in Arslan's favor. Arslan has beaten Ulsan multiple times like in Gamer8, EVO 2023, and TWT Finals. The only time I recall Ulsan beating Arslan is in a Kazumi mirror in 2019. But the thing is, beating Arslan a couple of times doesn't mean much when you can't beat players other than Arslan consistently. JoeCrush beat Arslan but was only able to win 1 match in his pools in TWT. Kwiss and PhiDX also recently beat Arslan but they don't even make top 8 in most tournaments.

@@mazymetric8267 Bro PhiDX got Top 3 in one of the most stacked Tekken 7 Tournaments of all time and that's not even a joke. Everyone went to The Last Chance Qualifier for TWT Finals 2023 because it was the sendoff. Names like JimmyJTran (Guys who don't compete as much anymore) still went because they wanted one more Tournament and Phi had to fight through them. Korean Players, Japanese Players, and European Players all from around the world that didn't get Top 20 went for their One Last Chance. MANY Top 30-40 Players from around the world that barely didn't make it to TWT Finals had to run that Bracket and Phi STILL made it over all of them except for 2 Players and Phi lost twice to the same guy, not different guys. Yes he do make Top 8 in Tournaments 🗿

Not entirely true though. Back when Saint and JDCR were winning people would complain too. Everyone always complained about every Grand Finals being Jack vs Dragunov.

It's funny looking at pro Street Fighter players (Punk specifically) who complain about how volatile their game is and they want something purely skill based like Tekken. And then there's people watching Tekken that are bored of how consistently good the best players are.
