One of the best magicians in the World was a English bloke called Paul Daniels.He didnt use trick photography,He was just incredibly skilled.It might not have looked as flashy as a Copperfield or Blaine, but people like Penn & Teller held him in very high regard.This may as well be cgi.

I watched and studied “David Blaine: Street Magic” many times. I learned so much from it. I figured out very quickly these two levitations were half camera tricks. I was still inspired by David Blaine to pick magic back up as a hobby and sometimes job.

He opened up console commands and typed in “noclip”

The trick to a TV magician isn't fooling the live audience. It's fooling both audiences.

You actually stand at an angle and kinda hide the other foot with the risen foot. So at an angle, it looks like levitation.

I remember the first version...bout 24 years ago. We'd do this at school, the one foot heal blocks the other one that has a toe on the ground and only lift about an inch or two

Fun fact, you can do a levitation very similar to the second, but it ruins a good pair of pants. It's the criss angel levitation. Or maybe criss angle because it's so angle sensitive.

This is why when magicians say they're no camera tricks you shouldn't believe them. A classic series I use to watch was The Masked Magician where he would go through many different magic acts and then show you how they're done.

I saw Chris angel forever ago expose how he did this trick and it involved pants that he could put his leg through and lift himself up while looking like both legs and feet were still together.

I still believe that he’s a good magician which he is because he tricked the audience that’s what magicians do but if your actually good and talented at something don’t go out your way to fake it just be grateful for what your gifted at

I did this about 15 years ago in front of my mother, and she crushed my dreams because she instantly told me I was just lifting myself with one foot.

Blaine really cause some serious panic back in the day. Nobody could figure his tricks out and i had many friends who truly believed he was a true wizard. It made me realise how fragile and gullible the human mind is. It also stopped me from believing in god and going to Church for the exact same reason. Another common way magicians levitate like this for live performances is actually very cool. Try to picture my explanation. The shoes have magnets and stick together. They also always wear black pants. One of the pant legs actually has a slit on the inside thigh thigh that the leg can slip out of. The shoes are also loose so the foot can slide in and out easier. Now, the magician will stand in front of something like a bench or chair, back to the audience, and slide his leg out of one of the pant legs. The pants are baggy so you cant see the leg coming out. They put their leg on the chair and push themselves up. The shoes are magnetized together so it looks like the magician is keeping their feet together. When the magician settles back on the floor, they discreetly slip their leg back into the pants amd back in the shoe. Levitation

He was levitating. He learned the secret art from a monk that was visiting a neighbor when he was a teenager. He almost forgot how to de levitate. The monk master quickly told him what to do. David was 2 stories in the air at the time and was just barely able to hear the instructions, good thing because he would have disappeared into the atmosphere.
