This was an amazing performance. It was 110 degrees that day and they were playing mid aft with the sun and stagelghts on them who knows how hot it was on stage. It's a miracle he was able to sing at all given his physical condition. Still kicks butt on drums! was so glad to have seen it live.

Levon passed away in 2012. His voice would sometimes be there others it wouldn't, climate had a lot to do with it, a change in Altitude could knock it out. He could barely whisper for three years after 38 rounds of chemo. It was tough on him but he regained 80% of his voice, it was at its best in 2008. If you really want to see the struggle he went through including constant treatment, watch "Ain't In It For My Health" available on Amazon in DVD or Blu-ray

I wish more people supported people that just love to sing and perform and it's not supposed to be perfect that's what makes it LIVE music! Now days it's all drum machines and tracks and you can tell and it sucks to high heaven!

About a year after I believe, give or take a few months. He had been battling throat cancer on and off over a decade by this point unfortunately. That's why he sounds as strained as he does, It was honestly a miracle he could speak at all at this point let alone sing.... sad man, sad...

Yea his voice wasn't what it was at his prime. But I think it's pretty good considering his age and what he went through, and also you can see in his face that he was having the time of his life, so that to be honest makes it awesome.

70 years old ain't that old dude people today are living longer than ever... Health issues as THE reason he was not in his "Prime" as you said. A lot of great musicians etc are at this age today Ozzy Osbourne, Don Henley or Tony Iommi and many more are still performing. Heck look at William Shatner at 87 for a really good example guy looks late 50's early 60 ish at most.

@@hanskurtmann6781 Levon had cancer and actually lost his voice. To come back and be able to sing at all was a credit to his hard work and love of music.
