If we're talking at their peak: At their peak Lex Luthor is basically Superman. At Doom's peak he was the omnipotent god emperor

I appreciate that Doctor Doom gave Luthor enough respect to show up as himself when he could totally have sent a Doombot or two and still won handily.

Luthor and DOOM fighting is like watching two kids doing those imaginary fights and screaming they have impossible devices that counter everything the other's have.

I love how instead of ruthlessly attacking Luthor after the Timeshift bomb activated, Doom, in his typical old-fashioned villain way, took precious fighting time to call Luthor a fool.

“Pitiful, what kind of a man are you?” “A Superman” Not gonna lie, really thought that line sealed it for Lex.

I love how this means that technically Lex has lost to Iron Man twice.

As a Lex Luthor fan... *What mere man could handle the wrath of the Mighty DOOM???* All hail Doom!

Dr. Doom is one of the few characters from Marvel that I honestly feel you could pit against many of DC's upper pantheon and he would still win. He is just so insanely versatile and able to counter so much it's easy to see many situations where he would beat the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman.

We have all gathered here in honor of Lex Luthor who knew he was gonna get bodied but fought Doom anyway and died

After the battle: *Dr Doom enters Lex’s vault* Doom: Ah, I finally found what I needed. *Doom steals Lex’s 40 cakes and flies away.* Lex’s ghost: DAMN YOU DOOM!!!!

It can also be argued that most of Lex's armory was geared against Kryptonians, in short, Kryptonite powered and so is not inherently a weakness towards non-Kryptonians.

It's a comparatively small achievement, but I love his confrontation with Purple Man in the comics. He doesnt just overcome his power - he takes off his mask (voluntarily neutralising his own defenses), stands face to face with Kilgrave, and basically tells him "Hit me with your best shot." Incidentally, he steps into the chamber with which he is not only containing Killgrave, but amplifying his powers to world-conquering levels. Doom doesnt even flinch.

The worse part of this whole thing is Lex was probably fighting a Doom Bot!

Doom’s most powerful attack: Foot Dive. So powerful he has to say it every time he uses it

Dooms final line is actually from the comics when he wielded TWO Infinity Gauntlets from alternate realities and created his own universe. In the end, he says this line to Valeria Richards, Reed Richard's kid (who Doom actually likes.) Nice to see that put in there.

14:36 Figures the Lexbot would get some token shred of genuine (if backhanded) respect… Doom’s tinkered with and burned through so many Doombots that he should have an eye for quality regarding doppelgänger automatons by now. 16:14 Same thing with the mother box. Doom may have stolen from stronger entities repeatedly before, but he knows the box is as good a consolation prize as he’ll get after razing Lex’s assets to the ground. Plus that mother box isn’t going to put up half the fight to get that power back as a lot of his past victims would have, so there’s that too.

The funniest part about the fight to me is despite all the amazing tech and abilities these two wield, they start the fight with basically a match of lethal laser tag.

Spoilers: dr doom wasn’t trying to steal lexs tech he just wanted to take back the 40 cakes lex stole from him

Two years later, I still cannot believe they said Lex's suit is better than Doom's. Doom's suit is actually magical. Lex's suit pushes the limits of physics while Doom's suit defies actual reality. Given enough time I think Lex actually might cook up a plan to trap Doom even if he couldn't ever kill him. But in a straight up fight, there's just no way Lex can win, not unless we're talking about super enhanced Lex vs early just a man Doom.

I like that this fight didn’t even come down to strength or powerful abilities, just each side trying to outsmart their opponent with the tools they had

Reed didnt steal Dooms powers. Doom admitted Reed could have done a better job fixing the universe after it got wiped out right before he killed Reed. Molecule Man took that as confirmation that Reed should now have that power.

“His power is like that of gods, beneath me.” - Doom That line was kick ass. One of my favorites on this series.

Dr Doom is one of the deadliest and most dangerous beings in the Marvel multiverse for a good reason, the fight was insanely well animated too.

Seeing as how Dooms power percentage was at 3% I wanna believe he went into this fight with below 10%, knowing he didn’t need to prepare for this fight

1:08 I really love how they cover the characters I just imagine the new Superman movie ending with Superman flying high towards the sky maybe with Louis to give her a view of metropolis and him thinking he’s at the highest point only to see a building covering the sun and it’s that big L building it would be a nice touch to let you know whose next

The Footdive spam is the most accurate part of this deathbattle

I like how Lex uses Superman's super-move from Injustice 2. Superman has plenty of iconic moves, and Injustice 1 featured a heroic and a villainous Superman, but only the villainous one is playable in Injustice 2. So even when Lex is trying to be Superman, he emulates the worst possible version of him.

Power may be Lex's obsession, but it's Doom's birthright.

Luthor made the same mistake he did with Stark: he claimed to be a God, and his opponent took that personally.

Lex: I'm superman now Doom: isn't supermans weakness magic? Lex: ......

Doom is a match for Lex with Tech and Intellect, but his mastery of sorcery gives him a huge advantage.

Lex Luthor With Prep: Can defeat and can forcefully use Darkseid at will. Doctor Doom With Prep: Can literally defeat Pre-Retcon Beyonder with ease. Not hard to see why Doom won.

To be fair, If Doom had lost it would've just been another goddamn DoomBot.

I come back to watch this fight maybe every so often just to hear Doom and Lex talk down to each other. That final line is always so satisfying "This power, it's like that of a God's, beneath me."

At Comic-Con a few years ago I saw a cosplayer dressed as Doom but covered in squirrels. He was just walking around looking mopey and defeated. It was hilarious.

I choose to believe that this happened after Lex and Tony fought, like it's in the same universe and that "No! NOOOOOOOOOOO!" was basically a "NOT AGAIN GOD DAMMIT!"

Doom is hard to stop, because he isn't just a genius, he's not just brilliant when it comes to technology, he's also mastered magic. Luthor is hard to stop, but Doom is just seriously o.p.

I like how Doom uses the foot dive from MVC also, this just makes me want Lex Luther in Multyversus even more

One of my favorite things to do is just list out Dr Doom's insane achievements and powers for my non-comic book reader friends. It's always so fun because the stuff he manages to do always just gets crazier and crazier

In on continuity, doom was burned, petrified and sent millions of years into the past. He survived, became the apprentice and the dude who did that too him, waited until it happened and then betrayed the guy to save the universe.

One of the best parts is how they have to keep explaining to the other one what they did, just to make SURE the other guys realizes that THEY'RE the smartest man in the room. Their mutual trash talk is almost better than the fight.

My favorite Doctor Doom feat was when Gwenpool -- who at this point in her story had harnessed meta-powers which allowed her to manipulate the formatting of comics to her advantage -- thought that she had to do something big like destroy Doctor Doom to keep existing. So she tracked the guy down, but he was going through that good guy phase, so he didn't want to fight. No biggie. Gwenpool reached into him, extracted "Classic" Doom, then threw that Doom out of comics. As in carried him into the white space between panels and dropped him into the featureless abyss, retconning his existence. About fifteen minutes in story-time later, Classic Doom reappeared, monologuing that while he wasn't exactly sure what type of trap he was sent to it was close enough to some prison subdimension ideas he was familiar with to jury-rig a setup to get back. Doom was forcefully expunged from the very medium the story was being told in with no possible way to prepare or even understand what was happening, and he took less time to get back then most people take to have a good breakfast.

I actually was expecting Lex to get a killing blow on Doom, then find out three seconds later it was a Doombot
