Great video. Have had a bad injector for a while and have been putting off replacing it. 220k on mine and no major problems.

Was it throwin ignition misfire codes as a result of the bad injector ?
@Carguy571214 ай бұрын
Yes. And smelled like straight gasoline. I also cleaned out the egr valve thing with some seafoam after. It was all good after.

Great video. I'm also Nick with an ES300! The last time I was at the fuel rail, I went further down to replace knock sensor wires and the coolant bypass hose. I thought it would be easy to remove the fuel rail, but it didn't FEEL easy and I didn't want to break anything, so I just left it on the intake as I took that off. Seeing you wiggle them and such gives me more confidence when I end up replacing fuel injector or O-rings. According to live data, I believe I have one or more leaking injectors on one of the banks (forget which) with a slight negative fuel trim on that bank (around -9) that normalizes at higher rpm/more fuel. I don't think it's problematic yet, but maybe soon lol. Btw, mine is a 99. No stinkin EGR. Just recently hit 200k!

Love these engines, they go forever with minimum maintenance.

@@nicklldoit I find it wild that you found one with barely over 100k for only 2 thousand lol. Great deal!

I just purchased a 1997 ES300 and it has some kind of tick which I’m hoping is a bad injector or coil. You were able to reach all 3 of those injectors without removing the intake?

Great video! What is the name for the mess of wires that you're disconnecting at around 9:00? My entire set is a little bruised & brittle and I'm hoping to replace them all at once.

Unfortunately, this is part of the main engine harness. They no longer sell them as new, your best is to fix any wires that are very damaged with pigtail ones you can buy. The other option is to find a good replacement at the junk yard. I know you can find pigtails with connectors on ebay or amazon.

Good luck it’s one harness and it continues into the firewall. Replacing it is easy, finding it is hard.

Hey Nick. Not sure if you've referred to the toyota repair manuals before, but this cautionary message in the fuel injector removal section confuses me. I'm not really sure what it's saying. Any idea? " Pay attention to put any hung load on the injector to and from the side direction. "

Basically, make sure nothing to holding down or attached to the injectors before removing them. They need to be free in order to remove straight out. Otherwise damaging the o-rings or even cracking the injector.

It’s same engine for my Toyota Avalon 2003

Very similar, it's a different fuel injector becuase of the your VVTi engine. I overall I've done your engine as well, it's easier to work on.

Did you end up having any leaks?
@nicklldoit3 жыл бұрын
The key is to lube them before installing, if one of the seals gets pinched. You will have a leak. No leaks on my end, I've done too many of these.
