Installation of VLine VL2 Android System in Lexus GS 350 2012 2013 2014 for Google and Waze Maps, Spotify, Pandora Music streaming apps, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto experience in your car.

This video shows you how to disassemble the Lexus GS 350 2012 - 2014 dashboard and install the VLine VL2 Infotainment System, connecting it to the back of the car stereo and display.
VLine VL2 Infotainment System is a fully functional Android car computer that connects to the back of your factory stereo and display and fully integrates into the vehicle's factory infotainment and stereo system.
NOTE that with VLine VL2 you keep all factory functions, including backup camera and Bluetooth. Steering wheel controls and car stereo controls are all being integrated with GROM VLine VL2.
Functionality:
- Google Maps, Waze, Sygic, any other navigation of your choice;
- Integrated music apps plugins - Spotify, Web Radio, Pandora, Google Music, Local (stored on the phone) music;
- Any other apps from Google Play market;
- Voice assistant for Navigation and Music search;

If you were using VLine in CarPlay, next time you turn on the car, VLine should be in CarPlay mode.

@@KingSavage96 , you do not need the VAUX cable if you already have a factory backup camera. You will need this cable if you want to integrate the aftermarket camera with your VLine.

@@rajivsharma5847 for 2020 GS 350F with the factory navigation, you will need LEX89VL2 model of VLine system, it is available here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-lex89.html The installation is similar to the one we showed in this video. The system can play KZfaq, Netflix, etc when used stand-alone (not CarPlay or Android Auto), as in addition to CarPlay / Android Auto the system itself is the Android device that allows you to install the applications available on Google Play store. That includes KZfaq.

question is yrs 3rd party install mines is a 3rd party install from previous owner of car when I bought the car owner connected it up for me. many months ago I disconnected my phone from it as it was peeing me off connecting to apply car play everytime I turned car on to drive it. I reconnected it but for love nor money I can’t get my phone to play sound to the car via the Apple car play. I’ve tried everything I can think of wife connected, Bluetooth connected etc. It also mirrors from my phone to the car but again still no sound? I have everything paired up. What am I doing wrong? I have a 2012 450h gs

How do you switch between the car built in system and the VLine? Yesterday I just ordered a VL2 for my 2007 LS460 Lexus. Looking forward to getting it set up.

Thank you for your order and your interest in GROM VLine! You will simply press the same button on the stereo that allows you to switch to the climate controls. None of the factory functions become disabled, you will access them the same way as before.

@@gromaudio Thanks for the reply. In the LS460 to access the telephone I need to hit the "info" button next to the screen, and then press "telephone" on the screen. Would this be how I access the Vline 2 screen? Sorry for many questions! I can't wait to get it set up now....2.5 weeks though :(

Do you have a video that shows how to hide the wiring between the glove box where you suggest the vLine unit goes, and the back of the dash unit? In other words, a video showing the full and complete installation all the way to putting the vLine in the glove box and hiding the wires?

We do not have the video of us leading the wires to the glove box, as it is hard to film. Usually there is the space that allows you to run the wires through, to the glove box. However sometimes if there is no space, the installer needs to make the hole inside the glove box, to lead the wires through.

@@gromaudio I have a 2013 GS and I'm confused. Is there any difference between the one you linked in the description (LEX7VL2) and the one you linked in this comment (LEX89VL2)? Which one is more up to date?

@@KingMatt1 The difference is in the connection cables, designed to fit different generation of Lexus stereos. Lexus GS350 2018 and Lexus GS 2013 have different connections. For Lexus GS 2013 correct model of VLine system is LEX7VL2, which you can see here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-lex7.html

If you are using the VLine VL2 system stand-alone, without any phone connected for CarPlay and Android Auto, you need to provice the internet to the VLine system to use the apps installed directly to the VLine.

You need to install GApps first, please refer to the user guide page 6 and up.

@@carlos103301 Switch button cable is probably very customized setup. In general you do not need any extra cables for CarPlay to work via VLine.
