It appears on the 2017 and up they updated the brake led board. If you buy a new 2014-2016 taillight it will be super ceded and you will get the new style. The new style bring the new style harness but it won’t plug into the red lights led board. In short keep your old taillight bulb harness or you will need to buy one for $35. P/N 81555-60A00

@@GXBOB : do not coat nor play around it. The original one is super glossy- black just like the front emblem of GXs w/ radar cruise control module.( Luxury Trims). Again, the original one has a super strong adhesive that holds it firm to the car. 🤞 Good luck!

@@GXBOB I was trying to add a screenshot to this reply to show you the Tails on this particular GX460 that I love but it's not working. Then you could can see what I'm talking about. It's hard to tell them apart especially if as all these pics are all differnt lighting. One is in a garage and one in bright sun etc....I want it to look exactly like the Tails in this pic.

I really want to buy some nice ones but I don't want to damage my wheel bearings or axles. I think I have it figured out on the Tail Lights but I can still show what I'm talking about however if you have a way to receive picks or that I can message the screenshot to you. I already have 2010-2013 OEM ones ordered. I researched alot and found the cheapest price at a Florida Lexus Dealership online. There is always one dealership in the country that has better prices than all the others usually. There price was the best when I ordered them 4-5 days ago. I also got 14% off and free shipping with the parts special they were running. The total was still about $575.00 for both sides. It wasn't worth it to buy them used on Ebay at this time as sellers are wanting at least $450.00 for a set. At that point I can almost get them new so I went that route. I just bought my 2014 GX460 Base Model Pre-Owned at 97k miles about 3 weeks ago. I bought it from a local Mercedes Dealership. It was pretty well taken care of and the best one I could find after looking for months. I drove 2 newer ones with less miles in that time that didn't shift good so I wasn't going to buy those. This one I bought shifts very well. The previous owner had a new oem screen put in it to the tune of $2,900. I guess it had some kind of error/defect in it and just needed a whole new screen. The Dealership put new front tires on it and brakes. I didn't pay that much for it but I knew it was going to need rear shocks and it's 100k Maintence done on it and I have been antsy to get all the fluids changed anyway and do a general restore on it and bring up to my standards as I'm very meticulous with my vehicles as far as how the drive, ride, perform and look. I'm in the St. Louis MO area and put in a service request to take it too the Toyota Car Care Nut Guy in Chicago actually but it was going to be awhile to get in and he is 5 hours from me so I ended just going to my Local Lexus Dealership. I knew the bill was going to be high and it is.........$3,400 total with tax. I'm in a loaner right now and they will have it until Tuesday. The water pump was leaking, it needs rear shocks like I knew, Spark Plugs, ALL the Fluids and oils changed, U-Joints and Zerks Greased, new lower engine cover splash guard because it was rusty. I looked under the truck before I bought it and saw that and that the rear shock sleeves were rusty too. I'm not too happy about the bill but I'm currently waiting on my $2,800 warranty check refund in the mail. After looking up about the bullshit warranty I bought in the finance office and got to really reading the fine print at home as well as their reputation.......I was like this warranty is dogshit. I'm getting my money back! It's a Full refund if you cancel within 30 days. So far I've installed myself a new OEM engine Air filter, Cabin Air filter, polished exhaust tip, all weather floor mats. I have an appointment next week for full tint, paint decon and polish. Then install the tail lights when they come in. I'm "changing" the Tranny fluid myself as all the dealer would do is a flush backed up through the cooler lines using a machine and my GX has no history of a flush or change so I'm glad I caught that. I will probably upgrade the wheels and tires at some point as well as a catback exhaust but I think I'm set for now hopefully! I've owned a bunch of cool vehicles but for right now in my life I was looking for a V8 SUV That is smooth riding and shifting, Reliable and that will last me the next 5 years. I sold my 2014 Lexus IS350 AWD for this. In St. Louis and Eastern MO in general we havy shitty roads so anything with thin tires and sporty suspension sucks as a daily. I was looking at ISF's but the nice ones are selling for way to much right now. I've also owned a red 94 Acura Integra in High School, white 08 charger on really nice staggered 22's wheels back when those were all the rage, a red 99 Range Rover Callaway Edition, a manual 2003 350z a 2008 Lexus IS250 RWD, a super low mile clean manual black 98 BMW 328i Convertible that I basically did a full M3 Conversion besides the motor. Those are one of the only few Realible BMW's ever made with the N/A inline 6 and no crazy tech and a 2017 Audi SQ5 that was the best car I ever owned in general except it's one major flaw.......Burning off a quart of oil every 1,200 miles. I love this GX460 though! It reminds me of my old Range Rover and like a G-Wagon Mixed! I appreciate your videos as they have helped me alot with what things can be done to these and how to do them! 2010-2019 (i can't confirm 2020+) has the same template, but the socket type my be different as seen in my video. You just have to figure out which is brake, turn, and parking lights and rewire as necessary. Pretty straightforward. What i really really want are the smoked red tail lights on the sports trim. Those are on fire. The ones i have are just your typical red ones.

i don't believe u can replace the bulbs in the tail lights Ben. They are already LED that are soldered onto the tail light assembly.

I have a long list of things to do Ashat, and steering wheel is not one of them. Firstly, the cost of a used steering wheel is in the hundreds of dollars, secondly, the gray wood trim for my car is rare, and lastly, 2020 and up steering wheels are not in abundance for me to just pick up at a junkyard.

Led turn signals send error messages to your diagnostic screen and goes into hyper blink. I’d have to invest in special led bulbs that are canbus error free. They’re on order and i couldn’t wait to release the video.

Its easier if you picked up a 2010-2013. The conversion would be easier than starting with a 2003-2009. Going to be pretty expensive. Good thing about your truck is you can pretty much sell it high at market value since it's worth more than gold right now. As far as looking like newer model, i would just make it look nicer and cleaner with accessories and some mods. Start with the tail lights and install 2009 ones, its a direct fit.

Let's be honest Jenny, the GX is not designed to accommodate a trip to the mall, it was designed with cross country trips and back mountain travel destinations. Parking lights shine directly into your neighbors' campsite to say the least. But what the GX has that your other family cars don't are awesome floodlights with perimeter sensors. The minute you walk up to your car or get out of your car, the entire floor underneath your car lights up pretty nicely. Just type in "Lexus GX460 tail light" on eBay. There are plenty for sale. Very expensive though. I would go look at your local junkyard to see if there are any 2010-2013 GX460 that are selling used tail lights.
