The original wheels are gorgeous. The new ones belong on a yellow Cavalier with a soup can tailpipe and a 2-foot spoiler, whose stereo goes “phhbbt phhbbt phhbbt” in a Walmart parking lot.

I own a SC430, 2002 , and like the standard wheels as they are classy and different from the run of the mill alloys you see, especially tacky aftermarket ones like on the featured car. Roofs are reliable if you keep the mechanism clean and lubricated. You should service the gearbox by flushing and adjusting the bands to standard at least every 50,000 miles, and then it will last indefinately. Shock absorbers will last 60,000 miles, good quality ones make it a way better car to drive and the various suspension bushes need checking occasionally. The timing belt should be changed around 90,000 miles. The Mark Levison speakers do not last and after market units can be made to fit. Other than those things, it is regular servicing and maintaining the all leather interior with a good leather conditioner occasionally. It is a fun Car to own with plenty of room for only 2 people and if looked after it will be very reliable. Decent lubricant should fix the creaky door.

I have 2002 SC430 that used to belong to my sister owned. I Iove this car. Yes it’s heavy and an unusable back seat but it’s super well made and the rear tv deck line is marred by the rear seat headrests . Mine has 43 k on it and only goes 2k a year. But that’s the joy of owning a toy🏖️

Interesting, I actually love the factory wheels - it's like they were perfectly made for the car. The aftermarket wheels look horrible on this car. I would love to have this car.

This isn't the best example of a SC 430 however it's a great car. I have a 02 that is approaching 213k and has been extremely reliable. LEXUS built a great product here and they have aged well in my opinion.

I wouldn’t buy this car without the original wheels. I’m actually buy an ‘02 tomorrow. Can’t wait.

It would be interesting to add I guess they made suspension changes throughout the production of it because the car had a little bit of a wobble. I don’t know the year range or the exact improvements but it was supposedly to stiffen it up.
