Priscilla now lives her life for Elvis by keeping Graceland going. It’s phenomenal. She had other men, but never married again. She still will tell you Elvis was the love of her life. She did not leave him cuz she’d stopped loving him. She just didn’t want to share him with the many women who came and went in his life. Elvis loved Priscilla to the end. Just listen to “It’s Midnight ( the listen Cilla [nickname for Priscilla]”. It was sung at end of his life. The words he spoke “listen Cilla.” says it all.

I've always loved this song. Yes, that is his wife Priscilla. The media back then harped on her being 14 when they met, but that was just a friendship at that point. She actually writes about it in her book. They didn't form a romantic relationship until she was a little older and she remained a virgin until they married when she was 21.

she was 14 when they met, she has stated repeatedly through the years that Elvis would not touch her until she came of age. Even after they divorced she never said differently. She was the love of his life. The picture at the end was them walking out of the courthouse the day of their divorce. You don't see many couples looking like that on that day

Her name is Priscilla. He met her in Germany. Her father was also in the military. She came to live with Elvis when she was under age. That was after Elvis discussed his feelings for her, with her father. With her father’s blessing, she moved to the USA. He put her through school. Then married her after she graduated & 9 months later Lisa Marie was born.

Her name is Priscilla, and they have 1 daughter, Lisa Marie together. Elvis was serving in the U.S. Armed Forces in 1959 when they met in Germany (Priscilla's father was a military pilot and was stationed there) when Priscilla was 14 years old and they got married 8 years later in 1967 and they had Lisa Marie a year later in 1968. After their divorce in 1973 they remained friends and they raised Lisa Marie together. When Elvis died he put Priscilla in charge of his Estate and she was a savvy business woman and turned his home of Graceland into the hugely successful tourist attraction that it became. Priscilla was also an actress.

He was a dude that put your mind and thoughts away for a minute and welcomed you into that voice uninvited. He was truly unmatched to those who grew up with him to this day. Nice reaction by the way :-)) Nice to see you get your Son involved in the Pioneer Artists as well, keep up the good work. love this song and how Elvis sings it. it is really touching as you can hear the emotions in the song. According to the internet the song was written in 1972 as 'one long apology for guys who screwed up and would want to pick up the phone to call their wife to say sorry' (songwriter Wayne Carson). One or two other singers sang it before Elvis recorded his version of "Always on My Mind" on March 29, 1972, a few weeks after his February separation from wife Priscilla. Other singers have recorded it since, such as Willie Nelson, the Pet Shop Boys, but personally I prefer this version.

It's funny, for me, I totally have to separate each of the other version from this. Because each one does it in their own special way. Not "worse" or "better" , just different. I think that's testimate to what a good song is. Think of Leon Russel's "A Song For You" or "This Mascarade". I think we are all lucky to live in a time where we can listen to a lot of different music and can appreciate it for what it is, regardless of the Genre. Thanks for the trivia stuff on this. I always assumed it was sung as a song to Priscilla. I just didn't bother to look at the time line of it all. I was born in 72, and grew up hearing Elvis music like a lot of people my age did.

Yes Priscilla was the young lady in the video. Here’s an insight into their relationship…. Elvis met her when she was 14 years old when stationed in Germany, and they created a friendly relationship. Elvis soon left Germany and for 2 years they maintained a long-distance relationship. When Priscilla was 16, after begging her parents, she was invited to visit Elvis in the US. She stayed in a separate house with Elvis’s father and stepmother, and after that, Elvis invited her to live permanently and finish school in Memphis at age 17. Throughout that time, Priscilla was gradually moving into Elvis’s home, Graceland. Keep in mind, this age difference was considered normal back in that time. They never did anything inappropriate until they got married in 1967, which was when Priscilla was nearly 22 and Elvis was 32. They had their daughter, Lisa Marie, nine months after they married. Their marriage eventually ended when Priscilla cheated on him with her Karate instructor, Mike Stone. They cheated on each other for a long time, so neither is to blame more. They cheated, and he changed her looks (not as much as the media says), and Priscilla says that even after divorce, Elvis was the love of her life. The media loves to exaggerate their relationship to create juicy stories, but they did love each other and got along well. Yes, Elvis did meet her at a very young age, but girls at that age were at a different stage in life than nowadays. Of course, Priscilla didn’t get to have her normal teenage years, but she wouldn’t have anyway as the stepdaughter of an Air Force Officer, moving from place to place constantly. She lived peacefully and was protected at Graceland and was able to keep in touch with her parents.

Presley, part of your story is untrue. Priscilla left Elvis because the drugs he took was ruining their marriage. He slept all day and performed in the evenings. He constantly had 5 guys around the house. It was not a good environment for their daughter, so during her karate lessons she met and fell for another man, because Elvis stop paying attention to her. They both loved each other until his death, in fact, Elvis asked her back but Elvis would not stop the drugs.

You hear the stories of how generous Elvis Presley was throughout his life. Generous to a fault. When he passed away, there really wasn’t a lot of money left of his estate for Lisa Marie. His manager Col. Tom Parker took 50% of everything he earned. When Elvis passed, Priscilla, to insure her daughters future. Made sure to place a copy right on Elvis‘s signature. She then opened up Graceland, so that his fans could visit his home. If you buy any of Elvis Presley merchandise. You’ll see his signature on most of the authentic pieces. This was to make sure that no one could exploit him after he was gone. I thought it was brilliant move. I read recently, that she & Sir Tom Jones have been spending time together. I love that. 🥰

@@jeffdimarzo7107 Thats only what they told her parents. Not long after she moved there, and while Elvis was in LA she slowly moved her things into the big house. His dads home was on the back pasture behind Graceland so it wasn't a hard thing to do. From there on out she lived in the main house. He still wouldn't touch her until they married though. Plus he was gone (to CA) so much, while she was going to school, they barely had time to see each other outside of summer vacation and holidays. This probably only went on about a year and a half since her birthday is in May and she was about 17 when she moved there.

OK this is my last comment. I’m at the age where Elvis‘s music was always prevalent in my home. My mom was a fan. My older sister, adores him to this day. And I will always be a fan myself. I’m at the age, where I had the privilege of watching him perform in person on two occasions. Although very young, you could still feel his energy and presence in the room. We knew were Elvis parked his plane the Lisa Marie. My mother took us so that we could take photographs. There are photographs of my sister and I in front of the plane. I’ll admit, that I was a brat when I was younger. I wrote something on the dirt of the plane that my sister didn’t like. So she wiped it off with a paper towel. Then she looked at the paper towel, and said…I’m never throwing this piece of paper away. To this day she still has it and we’re looking at about 50 years that has passed since I did that.

She was 14 when they met but the average age of women getting married in the southern states when Elvis was growing up was around that age - people lose touch with the times back then. He was a normal guy in the context of the times unfortunately people today get it all wrong trying to look at things in today’s context - not 50-100 years back - and he was only 23 himself when they met (not 50!!!). Nice reaction.

People are clueless to why we view the things the way we do. The age a society puts on adult hood is dependent on the opportunity people have. When opportunity is less getting married and starting life is the only way to better yourself. Girls were often married at 14 most of history. Your life was going to be a house wife because there was nothing else. There was no reason for anyone even their parents to pass an opportunity to make them wait 4 years. Which is why it was still common in rural places in the 50’s and even to this day to a much less extent. You see the same in poor countries. The legal age in Brazil for example is 16 I believe and some places 14. Pooling the resources as a family is a great weapon against absolute poverty. But in industrialized countries the opportunity to be anything and the competition to achieve it means we don’t let anything get in the way of people education. Someone dropping out of school at 14 can not survive in todays society. As that become a reality society gradually changed the way it looked out people getting married that young because now it causes more harm due to the opportunity available. Nature says your an adult at puberty. All other ages are socially based dependent on what works for that society.

Hey, my friend, and I have been with you and supported you for a while, so I thought I would tell a story from my college days!!! I had never believed it when my professor in college, both a musicologist and professional symphony musician, himself, told me that he viewed Elvis Presley to be the greatest overall singer of all time. "Why?," "What the hell?," so many of us said? With him first going on to ask what's Frank Sinatra's greatest and/or signature song? "My Way," someone eventually said and then the professor proceeded to show us various polls from over the years which listed Sinatra as the greatest singer ever. Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin were also on top of some, and Elvis, too, on a few. But the point of the exercise was to simply show us Sinatra was considered by many, though it's subjective, to be the greatest. The class then listened to Sinatra's "My Way," and then Elvis' version, back to back. With the room being roughly split as to whose version was better, "which proved what I thought?" But then the professor showed us Elvis rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special. With the point ultimately being that regardless of whose version of 'My Way" you preferred, Elvis was right there, totally at home playing in Sinatra's backyard for lack of better parlance. But as to Sinatra playing in Elvis' backyard, he said, it couldn't be done, as he said "[i]magine Sinatra, (who he totally loved) trying to do that rock number?" Then going on to say that he had found no singer who had ever sang more genres, more majestically, than Elvis, & he challenged us to find out for ourselves by looking at his full catalogue of Rock, Pop, Soul, Country, Ballads, Gospel and more. And, when done, I admit I became a convert who was so, so doubtful, at first, I can't even begin to tell you. But from rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from that Elvis 1968 Comeback Special, to singing about the dream of humanity coming together with "If I Can Dream," from the same show, I believe you will see what I mean. Elvis even had a voice that could be operatic if you go and listen to 'Hurt' and his version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" will tell you why he has also sold more gospel records than anyone, as well as just tons more, overall. But, with pop and 'Such A Night' to a ballad such as 'They Remind Me Too Much of You,' he did it all, and so, so damn well. While for soul, check out 'Long Black Limousine' or 'You're Wearin' That Loved on Look' which is a bit of another number. Because as Elvis' one album cover says, there's 'Something for Everybody.' Also, and if ultimately you don't think Elvis is the best, that's totally cool as there really is something for everyone!;-) Great channel and I wish you the best!!! ~ Christopher Tyler P.S. Those recommendations are only, quite literally, the beginning!

First of all i have seen a few of your reaction also one with your son and seen a few of him by himself i was very impressed with him i feel he is a very classy young man, must take after his father. When Elvis was in the army in Germany he met her and you are correct she was 14 or 15 she came to live with him when she was17. In Graceland she finished high school then got married when she turned 21. According to her Elvis never touched her till she was 21, i can only go by what she said, i don't know for sure. Unfortunately the Elvis haters spread around that he was a pedophile and some people today still believe that just like the rumors started that Elvis was prejudice to blacks is also widely believed, sad we need to start caring for each other more Have a great christmas season to you and your family

The KING! FYI, Mr. Van - Elvis, the "king" of rock 'n' roll, & Aretha Franklin, the "queen" of soul, both died on the same day - Aug. 16 - Elvis in 1977, Aretha in 2018. Rather coincidental, wouldn't you say? Mrs. Priscilla Beaulieu Presley was 14 when she & Elvis married. It eventually fell apart, but Elvis never re-married, either. A few other Elvis songs you may want to react to:. "Memories", a touching, nostalgic love song; "Cold Kentucky Rain", a haunting "torch" song; &, for a little Christmas flavor, "Blue Christmas", Elvis' iconic Christmas song. Thanks for reacting to 1 of the greatest of all time!

Priscilla met Elvis while he was deployed in Germany in 1959. He was 24 & she was 14. They dated then, & when he returned home, she followed him, moving in with him in 1962 & completed high school. They continued to live together as a common law couple, until their legal marriage in 1967, when Priscilla was 22. They weren't legally married in '59, but they may as well have been. I cast no aspersions on their relationship - it just was what it was - a 24-yr.-old man & a 14-yr.-old girl.
