This is the only way I could actually get it to work and you explained it very well as well as making the directions super easy to follow without having to restart the video over again just to see what I was missing or doing wrong. I purchased this phone from Metro yesterday. The young lady at the store set it up and I was good to go. About 3 hours ago - September 16, 7pm - the phone did a security update. I thought nothing of it, and continued working on my computer. I then noticed that the phone restarted, so I picked it up and I noticed that the wallpaper I had on before was gone. I tapped the screen and it asked for a PIN. I had entered my PIN and, nothing. I then researched for 2 HOURS with NO luck. I was ready to take it back to Metro when I stumbled upon this video. All I can say is that you are a LIFESAVER!! I followed the instructions in this video and I was back up and running. Now I'm using LG Mobile Switch to transfer all of my apps and hopefully my contacts. Thanks,man!!

Thank you! I searched everywhere (well, for the LG velvet) and no one gave this tip. I tried it, it worked. I didn't go through with the wipe because I'm still hopeful I'll remember the password but I'm very happy there is an option to get access to my phone itself again

This method also works for when your keyboard won't show up on your lock screen. I didn't factory reset it, but it got my keyboard to show up again. Thank you.

This video was a godsend, I don’t know anything about LG phones (guilty iPhone user here) but my elderly nan forgot her password (she didn’t have the phone backed up to an email/safety recovery net or anything lmao) so I need to reset the whole phone. I was wondering if there was a way to get pass the pin on my father's LG phone without a factory reset, there's way to many important photo's on it, see my father passed away suddenly and and he had never told me his pin and never got a chance to put a SD card in, plz is there any way I can do this? Any places I could it too, normally I wouldn't care about a phone but he said he never wanted to loose those photos and neither did I.

I truly hope you figure out the pin! Maybe take it and hook it up to a machine to see if it’ll still access the photos to print them! Also go to the phone stores And see if one of the techs will help you!
