I actually liked the 45 Inch how it looked from the back and on the front, kinda looks more immersive. And tbh the stand looks cheap compare to the 45.. what do you think should I go for the 45 or this one? Would love to see the comparison between these 2! Great video ❤

OLED 39 -- This is a great monitor. If I hadn't scooped last gen's 45 UltraGear for 900 (open box ftw), I'd be considering it for the slightly improved PPI. That being said, I sit about an arm and a half away and have zero issues with PPI. I'll wait a gen or two! Thanks -- was waiting for reviews of the 39 incher!

Just last week I ordered the 1rst gen with 45", too. Couldn't resist the price tag of 980 bucks. Now I kinda regret it, seing that 39" one with higher PPI and a nicer stand.. Although I'm also not bothered by the low PPI so much, since I use that monitor mostly for PC-Gaming, and just sometimes for productivity work. Not sure if I should just return it and get the new one as soon as it's available, or if I should keep my 45" one. I really enjoy the screen-size of my current monitor though.. I'm torn 🤔

Let me know if you like it, I've been pretty frustrated with the text quality, just got mine today. Overall, I find the image to look more blurry than is acceptable for me, so I'm returning it. Ironically, the curve, which is something I thought I would hate, was one of my favorite things. Refresh rate was awesome and colors were good, but damn that image blurriness Even when the resolution is set correctly, kind of sucks for me. Maybe I'm just extra sensitive to it or something, but it was pretty disappointing. Hope your experience with it is better

It doesn't launch here until next week. I preordered from a local Best Buy so I can easily return it if I don't like it. if you have a 1600P 21:9 I'm not surprised it disappointed you. I'm coming from a 1440P 34" 21:9 LCD and will keep it for work. my oled tv has spoiled me so I've wanted an oled monitor. if I was you I'd wait for an oled 1600P 21:9. I'll probably upgrade when those come out too.@@nathanfife2890

How do you find the text clarity and readability? I have the AW3423DWF which is a beautiful 1440p OLED and it took me some time to adjust to the text being blurry in comparison to traditional pixel structures. QD-OLED panels don't fix it and this is the first different panel I've seen since they were also released.

I actually like monitors that come without speakers. Most people are gonna have dedicated speakers. Also, less weight on the monitor as no speakers are installed. But my opinion of course..

OLED 39 looks promising- mine will be here the first week of April... the most difficult part is waiting. I can understand why they skipped speakers, as anyone using this for gaming will have a great audio setup- but for office use, it would be nice to have the simple speakers for the typical "ding" when using office apps. I'll be using mine more for home office use than anything, but I have an old flight sim cockpit setup with gaming chair- so I may throw a VESA mount on that and bring that back to life. Now, if only decent video card prices were a thing...

OLED 39 - thanks for the review. I'm strongly considering "downgrading" from a 42" LG C2 to this one as a kinda miss UW for gaming. You didnt really comment on the matte coating here, which some other reviewers have really been trashing hard. So can I assume it didn't really bother you much?

A well implement matt finish can absolutely be better than a gloss coating, it doesn't take much to get reflections with gloss and that of course destroys the visual experience. If your in truly dark room, sure gloss.

I just bought the 34 inch version which I think is the optimal size for 3440x1440. It has the same pixel density as my current 27 inch Odyssey G7, which is not ultrawide at 109ppi. I feel like 39 inches doesnt give enough of a benefit, especially when mostly playing mouse and keyboard games and sitting up close, to justify the reduction in PPI. I'm super excited to get it and I am worried about burn-in, but based on the research I've done, it seems like just hiding the taskbar and desktop icons, having a black or moving background, and allowing it to perform its image cleaning regularly is more than enough to reduce the chances of burn in significantly. I've heard that you really need to have a static image, with high brightness, sit in the same spot for days in some cases before you will even begin to notice burn in and in most cases, its temporary. For permanent burn-in, you would need to have that same image there all day, every day, for months. I would use it mostly for gaming and watching youtube/movies, so I'm sure I will be fine **fingers crossed**

How would you say this? Performs a comparison to the LG45 inch ultra gear with the 800 R curve. I know the biggest concern with that model. Was the low PPI count? However, I think it made up for it with immersion. But what would your opinion be

Performance is very similar but this is brighter the higher PPI makes it slightly best but it all depends on your usage if you're just going to be using it for simracing then the 45 inch gives great immersion with the larger display but I did find was a bit over welming on a desk, this is where thee 39inch felt just right on a desk.

I've read it's to do with image burn in but LG takes care of that via their OLED care options in the OSD.

I wanna get back into ultra wide, but when I got my 35”, it still felt small. Then got the 49” and it felt too skinny. The 45” is too big… So if price willing, hopefully it goes down a little and I’ll give this a shot. I’ve never paid full price for a monitor, and never will. I don’t want that first adopter salt.

“OLED” 39. That being said, how’s this monitor on a 70 cm deep desk? My desk is 63.5 cm deep, the Karlby countertop from IKEA. I assume the PPI will be even more noticeable for me since I’ll sit closer to it..?

For me the only deal breaker is the price. Gaming only I am fine with the PPI of 96, as even a 4090 wouldn't be enough to drive this monitor @ 240hz in the latest titles. Hope this is just the early adopters price, as the LG 45" WQHD@240Hz has already come down like 60% since release.

Yes, true fact. I mean its completely sensless, because we speak about a UWQHD monitor, but here is just a thought: Would it be possible to reset the aspect ratio to 16:9 (resolution 2560x1440) for some additional FPS? And in the future you could upgrade to the "Next-Gen-GPU" to drive that panel on its native resolution (3440x1440).

aside from being a bit brighter than last years model yes the one to get is the 32'' 4k dual mode one though pre orders are already live for the 2024 ultrawides on best buy with a ship date of 3/19 as for the 4k dual mode 32'' 16:9 monitor you have to go lg direct right now for that and its coming in april

I disagree about monitors needing to have speakers. The *best* monitor speakers sound *worse* than the *cheapest* dedicated desktop speakers, and the people buying this monitor will no doubt already have good speakers, or have the cash ready to buy high quality speakers. Plus, in my experience, Windows automatically prioritizes monitor speakers over existing options, when a new monitor is plugged in (or just randomly), which I find extremely annoying. I'd like to hear why you think speakers are necessary in monitors.

Hi @geekstreet! I’m in desperate need of your help on something with this monitor. I’m unable to select 10-bit color over hdmi - only when using DP with DSC, or if I I go down to 144hz on hdmi. I’m using a 4080 and have tried multiple cables. Am I missing something here, or is this monitor not capable of selecting 240hz 10-bit over in NVidia control panel? Lg support has been no help in this matter and I’m trying to figure out if my unit is defective. PLEASE HELP!

my gut feeling tells me that the next 1-2 years will be a sweet spot long term to buy an ultrawide OLED monitor. I'm expecting a 360-480hz 1440p UW monitor with a further improvement to the OLED tech and in particular, the new anti glare coating developed by Samsung on the QD OLED panel front and LG will probably do something similar as well. I honestly don't think that we will ever need beyond 240-360hz on an UW, especially at this size, it's borderline too big for the primary purpose of super high Refresh rate, aka competitive shooters. I'm still a bit uneasy to buy an OLED monitor though (too many static elements for desktop use) still rocking a 120hz alienware 34 inch ultrawide IPS monitor and a 180hz LG Nano ips monitor. I have a have a high end Sony OLED TV though (A95L) so I know what I will be buying myself into.

The curve on the 39inch is pretty good to be honest, whereas the curve on the 45inch feels a bit overwhelming on a desk

Picture looks great, but the resolution makes no sense for a monitor of this size. A 38" 3840x1600 with this picture quality would be awesome.

While it's not the best resolution, it's the same ppi as the current 32" 1440p monitor I use which is more than fine...but OLED has the whole text rendering issues so maybe I'll wait until they release a 1600p version or they fix the text rendering issues on oled

Well I'll say this it may be a decent monitor for PC but I have a 42-inch LG OLED C3 for my PS5 and my Xbox series X and looking at this compared to my TV I think the TV does a better job with those consoles

I actually like that they kept it lower. It's easier to drive 3440x1440p at 240hz. It will be hard to drive the full capability of this resolution alone.

I have already said before between flat 32 inch or 34 inch OLED, always flat. But if they have 38 inch then I will go for it. Issue is the resolution. It should be 5k resolution for this 39 inch.

No brightness tests with a lux meter? Would have been nice to see how that came put, windows saying nits isn't true form of brightness, and how was the abl @ transitions to 100% white screen?

ok great thanks. If i understand correctly ASUS we'll launch very soon the PG39WCDM. It's the same screen but there is a KVM integreted. Maybe they will make the difference on that !! @@GeekStreet

OLED39 That's exactly what I've been wanting.... now all I need is the 21:9 aspect ratio support on PS5. I would have preferred the headphone jack position with the rest. It's a shame for those who would run speakers to have that one cable visible all the time, with the rest being hidden.

The 34" is better for this resolution, it has 109 PPI, which is about the same as 42" 4K or 27" QHD. The other problem is the 800R curvature. You should be sitting within 32" away for optimal fov. Due to the low PPI, you need to be seating further away, but probably past the center point to match the apparent sharpness of the 34" at the center point, so it's not exactly optimal imo. Also, it's $1599, pretty steep. The 27" QHD 240hz is half the price, and a 42" LG C3 is like $900. You're really paying a premium for the 240hz, and the curvature I guess.

These ultrawides at 34"+ will be better next year when we start seeing 5120x2160 resolutions. Until then 1440p at these sizes is sorta mid.

How is this an upgrade for you? the 240hz? You wanna spend more than you did for your c2 for a lower resolution, smaller, matte coated display? Is it cause of the high refresh rate or is there something else you don't like about the lgc2?

C2 42 is what I have it's not that much lower. It uses the gen 2 rgwb pixel instead of the rwbg it's brighter

@@ToGrimmToWinThe monitor in the video has only 1 advantage and it's refresh rate. I wish they would offer 240hz on the LG C 42inch line cause I can't go back to a matte or small screen.

@@definingslawek4731 I definitely agree with not being able to go down and screen size which is why I like this. 45. I owned a 40-in flat IPS 3440x1440 and was okay with the pixel density. I'm just stuck on OLED and I don't care about the 240 Hertz at least at 4K. It's already hard enough to try to push majority of the games I play to 120, let alone 2:40
