LG phones last an eternity. I'm upgrading from a E980 that's been working since 2014 heheheh. They're like the Toyota of smartphones.

I copped a LG G7 Thin Q a month or so ago on eBay for $89 to replace my cracked Galaxy S9. It's a flagship i skipped out on when it initially released because I wanted to try something different on the Samsung side mainly because of the Samsung Dex feature. But when I dropped my S9 face down going down a flight of stairs i had to look for a replacement. It does not disappoint as a daily driver in terms of speed and daily use and the battery life ain't bad either. Put the boombox feature to the test by putting my phone on top of a acoustic guitar and was blown away on how loud it gets! I really was debating on getting the LG v40 as a replacement at first but in terms of price I couldn't do it. And then somehow I came across the LG G7 😂 (Also as a informative side note) 3 days ago I saw a article posted by Android authority on their Facebook page out of all places advertising a promotion that Sprint is offering and I was shocked. They are offering to repair any Samsung device from the Galaxy S7 up to the S9 plus that has a cracked screen for $50 flat. You don't even have to be a Sprint customer! So when I saw that I called up my nearest store to clarify the promotion was real and the guy on the phone said yep it's real. I was like dang! So this upcoming weekend my damaged Galaxy S9 that's been sitting in a drawer in it's box collecting dust and crying will be back up and running. 😄 Keep up the good work good job on the video! ♥️

This phone is straight fire.. Had it since it came out.. Well 3 months after it came out I got it for 480 thru Verizon.. It's all around a beast phone.. It's got higher res and ppi than both the note 10 and S10.. What.....

I just picked up the fully Unlocked LG V40 (V405QA7) which has about 30 different BANDS supporting any carrier including BANDS 66 and 71. Which work perfect on the carrier i use, T-Mobile. The fully unlocked model actually has USB-C to HDMI out through Slimport. Some variants do not have this. Same withxthe FM radio. Also another bonus is the community over at "XDA" has gained ROOT on the V40, except for the T-Mobile variant. It'll eventually get ROOT. That's why i hunted the fully unlocked version. They actually used a engineering bootloader file from the V35, to force flash its bootloader to one of the V40's boot partitions. Pretty clever, that someone realized that the SD845 has a open back door. Kind of like forcing the ESS SABRE qDAC in high impedance mode just by holding the mic or play button down on the earbuds while plugging them in. I just figured this out today when plugging in the LG earbuds. I haven't seen anyone post this on the XDA forums, so i should get over there and start posting. But, before that, let me tell you guys and girl's what i did with my V40. I got the Unlocked V40 soon as i heard that ROOT was possible. Most probably know about LG's infamous micro stutter and thermal throttling when the phone isn't even hot. The first thing to fix is the micro stutter in games and software. All that needs to be done, is to change the temperature threshold in the thermal.conf.file. LG sets the Adreno 630 GPU to throttle at 50°c. That is way to low of a throttle temp. The reason Oneplus phones are so fast is they have a much higher thermal throttle temp set. So, basically changing the Adreno 630's thermal throttling temp to 80°c will guarantee no micro stutters in games. The Adreno 630 will stay at 700MHz just like Oneplus phones do. You can also set the temperature parameters on the Snapdragon 845's CPU cores. Overclocking the 2.80GHz HP (high performance) cluster to 3GHz (2.96GHz) is even possible. So, that takes care of the Snapdragon 845, so it can run thermally unconstrained. Next thing is the battery. In the same thermal.conf.file, you can even set the phone to charge at a 2000mlv while using the phone. LG has it set to slow charge when using it. The model i picked up was brand new in the box, unopened for $250. A $60 Otterbox Defender series Screenless Edition case and clip came with it. The owner only had 10 and i got the last one. If your not sure which Unlocked version of the V40 you get or got. A pair of LG ear buds will come in the box. Also the model number should be V405QA7. Don't let some of these eBay sellers pull a fast one with a LG V40 Unlocked on there title. There usually a GSM unlocked AT&T or T-Mobile phone, or some other carrier. To get even more performance out of the Unlocked V40, updating the Adreno 600 series GPU driver's. Though, this has to be done manually by a mod. Also updating the Vulkan driver is a 10% performance boost to the GPU. Lets just say my V40 with the SD845+ is within 10% of the Adreno 640. Which has 50% more ALU's (GPU cores/Floating Point Units) 768ALU's to 512ALU's. It helps out with more than just games too. The LG V35 (ULM) like the Google Fi variant is a great phone too. It's basically an upgraded V30 with a better P-OLED and SD845. If the LG V40 isn't available, get the LG V35 (ULM) it worth the compromise in features. Which isn't much. Some people just can't handle the notch. It doesn't bother me. One more thing. The v40 that I got had a manufacturer's build date December 5th 2019 so that makes you a specific v40 only 6 months old in the battery life chose this. I get 8 hours I've only screen time fairly hard use. Never thought a 3300mAh battery could last quite that long but it did. Plus i'm running a complete stock version of Android 10. If anyone has any questions, hit us up over at the XDA forum's. Sorry about the smartphone biography. Just sharing my experiences with one of the most underrated phones on the market. Liked the vid. I opted for the V35 because I was concerned about battery life of the V40 by having same 3300 mah battery but larger display. I liked the no notch display on the V35, but the speaker is definitely weak compared to the V40.

I have the US unlocked model. Gaming is awesome on it however you have limits and cant play on highest setting on pubg/cod mobile for more than 30 minutes otherwise lag and stutters. LG V40 can be rooted if your on pie and with an custom rom you can play every game at highest setting and have the best possible benchmark for the phone. cant get the maximum performance of your cpu/gpu if you are not rooted with a custom rom. LG V40 can be rooted if your on android 9.0(pie). You are not gaming right if you are not rooted!

The Quad HD display on this phone makes this Flagship even more underrated since they went back to full HD on the 60 I don't know why because Quad HD is noticeably sharper I'll be sticking with the 40 best display on the market in my opinion

I've been with LG for quite a while now. I love all my LG Android except the AT&T version. STAY AWAY from any AT&T because you can never update it through Wi-Fi unlike the Sprint, or T-Mobile I got. Even I borrowed an AT&T sim from a friend still won't update. Satisfied LG phone user here but hard lesson learned from the AT&T version.

The v40's cameras are very disappointing for 2019/2020 standards, the telephoto camera is the worst. I managed to get a gcam port to improve the camera quality but it's still average. The UI is sluggish, gesture navigation is very buggy with launchers. Lg's software is the reason why people don't buy their smartphones. Lg also makes it very difficult to unlock bootloader, root the V40 and install custom roms

All LG phones are (were) underrated. At least up to (before) the velvet. Unfortunately they look to be headed towards mid-range only phones, or gimmick phones. Too bad. Cool post.

The cameras all 5, of them are awesome having several updates including two operating system updates and a little under two years of ownership 7/20...its lighter as well has mil spec build quality IP 68 Google assistant wireless fast charge snappy snap 845 from qually adreno 630 game launcher, game tools that let's you crank the frame rate of HCR2 but only LG gets that love.. VS & Gs (Rip Big G) damn son all for under 3, bills... Looks at phone in disgust
