I've had my V40 for a week now and absolutely love it

Thanks for the comparison. LG should send you a thank you card for drawing attention to the strengths of their phone beyond it having 5 cameras. In regards to the subject, overall it was a push with the Note 9 doing a bit better in sunlight. But this seems like the best screen LG has put on any of its phones to date. Just wondering if you could do an audio comparison between the V40 and the Note 9 or one of Apples new phones or whatever.....it would be interesting to see how the V40 stacks up with phones that have stereo speakers in terms of overall sound quality. Keep up the great work......glad I found your channel!

The v40 has higher dynamic range as some parts of the note 9 look overexposed.

LG V40 has the best display of any phone! The colors are so rich! I am so happy with my V40!

The Samsung's display is barely noticeably brighter but the LG display is slightly more colorful which is why I'd pick the LG. LG gets a bad wrap when compared to Samsung but truth is LG display are just as great. Great video brother 👍 perfect

Both are great. I have a Note 8 but would have to give a slight edge to the V40 based on this video.

for me ,LG V40 has a better display...just have a look at those videos, we could clearly see those bright portions of the images ...but in note 9 those bright areas are completely overexposed ... and LG V40 is producing more natural looking colours... and great work sir... appreciate... keep it up...👍 love from Kolkata,India...

I have V30. I bought it 100% for the attery and ultra wide angle camera. But I was very surprinsed in a contest between my colegues to find out that V30's display is better than Xs, and S9+ . Same level as Note 9 I was sure that Samsung is better but... My colleagues were amazed too.

i have seen a lot of tech youtubers, but I can't believe this is one of the unique and best display quality test of a phone, keep doing that in future videos, really like your hardwork, now i am subscribed.

Note 9 screen is a bit bigger (if you hide a notch on V40) and brighter. Still, V40 screen is big enough, and on Note 9 some places seems to be overbrighten little bit, but i didn't observed it when i was holding Note 9 in my hand. Both devices are great, Note 9 wins with bigger battery and S-Pen, but still, i am into LG V40. Why? Because of 4K 60fps wideo with stabilization on all 3 back-lenses plus all that video setting, which other flagship devices miss. In short - V40 - best smartphone for 4k video makers.

LG V40 for me.

I've got to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the V40 coming off a Note 8 from last year. Skipped the V30 just because of the display, but I'm pretty impressed with the improvements they've been able to make in a year. The one thing I'd say that isn't shown here though is that the V40 has the slightest bit of color shift in the blues at extreme angles where the Note 8 I can compare it to doesn't, but my personal preference is still for a completely flat display over the Infinity screens. I miss my S Pen, but Tidal/MQA with the Quad DAC on the V40 make me forget about it pretty quickly.

I have to go with v40 the amount of custumizability with the colors, sharpness, and contrasts just seem more natural to me ive actually compared mine to my buddy's note 9 and he agrees that mine is better but the note 9 seems to over expose with certain images or colors for some reason

V40 takes it here Similar OLED panel used on the Xperia XZ3, which seems to be considered as also the best display on a smartphone as of today (dunno how it compares to the V40, but it certainly defeats both the Note 9 and iPhone Xs Max's displays).

with the note 9 you can increase color adjustment in accessibility and you also can make these colors darker more than lgs, for 4k section regards the camera and features the lg wins, but with s pen of note 9 and that 4000mAh battery a bigger screen and more for me I do pick the note 9, another thing if you hold the lg v40 in your hand in like some time its not comfy to keep holding it in one hand, you need to use 2 hands to control it, the lg's screen is wider unlike the note 9 even with 6.4in you can still use it with one hand. both phones are great.

The V40 is a GREAT phone. Screen and picture quality are impressive. Its still a notch or 2 below the punchy vibrance of the Note 9. Only the MOST critical phone owners will be bothered by the difference. Nothing on the market is beating a Samsung screen right now. Battery life surprised me. LG optimized the OS well to compliment the 3300 m/Ah battery. LG did the same thing with the G7. They are getting a LOT out of these smaller battery capacities. With Power Saving Mode ON you could squeeze out 6hrs screen on time. The cameras on my V40 are giving me very good picture quality and in some cases better exposure than the Note 9. This includes low light shots. I still dont know why LG insists on putting a 5mp camera on their phones in 2018 BUT you also have a 8pm camera. Fingerprint scanner and facial recognition are SUPER FAST!!!.

What case do you have on the V40?

both are excellent, but i like the v40 just bit more colors look more vibrant and both phones same size screen and the v40 is smaller phone. also love the quad dac on the v40.

There's no point for us telling what looks better , We are seeing it on camera and it catches light very differently when faced directly at the sensor . You shoud say more about how do you see the displays

I think the V40 is awesome; I heard the display is an upgrade from the V30 and it does kinda show here. The good thing is that it looks similar to the Note 9. Though to the honest, Samsung has this sort of blue thing going on with their displays, I don't know if it's just me.

Just got my note 9 today the first Samsung I've had in years and so far I like it but there is one thing annoying me, can anybody tell me why it's vibrating one time about every minute? no new notifications have come in but it still vibrates how do I get that to stop?

You know what would be interesting ? Compare the sound quality of phones connected by wire to a good quality soundbar No single reviewer had ever done this on KZfaq I wonder why?

I've got both phones, just got the V40 today but I'm pretty sure the Note 9 still has a better display. And main reason I got V40 is because it's OLED and am slightly disappointed that it's not as good as the S Note 9 or better...

This display is the most accurate description of the true to life colors Samsung is way over saturated and LG has the best pro video modes in manual controls the Quad HD full vision what the resolution of 1440 3120 with a PPI of 537 looks absolutely phenomenal and the only two phones with higher resolution are the Sony Xperia or the $1,400 S20: 20 Ultra with resolution of 1440 x 3200... Pick up a V 40 and get a beautiful display that is higher resolution than the one that's in your hand most likely and for around 250 USD you're stealing a flagship from LG straight up

Watching V 40 on Netflix is absolutely stunning...This display is beyond awesome...

Watching on my new lg v 40, I thought tbe samsung would win tbis battle, but to my surprise tbe v 40 is sligbtly better.

I bought both of them couldn't make up my mind

My V30 has a different temperature of white at the bottom vs the top. My friend's too. And his sister's is uniform but has a bunch of dead pixels making a black dot. Poor displays on the V30. Glas they stepped it up on the V40. Been disappointed in LG too many times. This year I'm going with Huawei and their Mate 20 Pro. LG didn't do enough on the V40. Sad but I will go back to LG if they can offer something more competitive. Huawei and Apple ans Samsung is giving their all but LG dropped the ball this year I think.

Shouldn't you be doing the challenge without the screen protector on? Also you have them at a angle this video is flawed.

Never buy LG V40 ThingQ. It's a rubbish product. It's also a lot of trash. There are ridges at the end of the liquid crystal and bezel, so it's very ugly to attach liquid information film.

Note 9 because it shows better colors imo but we have to see that in person to truly know.. also note 9 doesn't have the camera in the middle of their screen at top which is annoying so NOTE 9 WINS!!
