Ok so camera app opens faster but have they fixed the cameras low light lag?

ok this is why this is good, for the people saying do MS really matter, ok so in the description is says this is about 17% faster, ok so lets say your screen on time is about 5 hours just for a number, 5 hours is 300 minutes, so for example you use your phone 300 minutes a day, 300 times 0.17 because it is 17 percent is 51 so that means with this being 17% faster over a day that will save you a whole 51 minutes of your times, and also since it takes less to do this you can use your phone longer. Ok so lets say you are a power user and you use your phone 7 hours a day going on facecrap and what on, ok so 7 times 60 is 420, 420 minutes times again 0.17, so now that 71 minutes or 1 hour and 11 minutes, so 1 whole hour you saved, not only does that save you time but it will also save you battery life not waiting for it to open, so after 7 hours on jellybean it would be dead, but on kitkat it would have another whole hour and 11 minutes to go, that is a lot more time to do what ever it is you are doing, this is why this is importent not just for the ms of differnce.

Once art is turned on and the transition animation speed in the developer options is set from 1x to 0x the lg g2 will be futuristicly fast !!! :D

Can't wait to get a G2 next month... my current phone would measure in the thousands of milliseconds for each of these tasks.

The best part about this update is how quickly knock on and the camera work. The videos don't do it justice. This phone is a lightning fast monster with Kitkat. However, another update is needed to fix some of the bugs that are from it.

if any of you have noticed closer .. the contacts button on the jellybean version was touched slightly later than the kitkat ..

Once opened the camera is slow as hell to focus and take pictures. I turn off IA and that helps it take pictures faster. Making sure to touch the screen where I want it to focus helps sometimes. Last weekend, I was at an anniversary party at a restaurant at noon. I had the flash on auto and went off most of the time, and still only 1 in 3 pics were worth keeping. Most pictures were slightly out of focus or grainy even on posed shots.

I got a Galaxy S from 2010...and i got KitKat for a few months already, faster then any other OS i used since android 2.1 version, 1G cpu and 512 ram now imagine this phone..wow.

LOL! If you need a high speed camera to detect the difference then it isn't much of a difference now is it? Well done LG.

What about battery life? Seems to me that only the most superfluous "features" have been tested. Is that all i'm getting from the KitKat update? give or take 20ms less response time? (let's be honest, no one can spot such small difference)

this was linked on a forum, and i just came to point out what i guess in the big picture many already have.. this is not much of a test. If you can't even sync the icon outline coming on with a button press this means nothing.

I have been using my LG G2 for past 1 month, i have been quite happy with the performance and it is quite fast and great battery life.. .D. Looking forward to the Kitkat update, But most importantly i wish there would be the Time Lapse video feature like in Nexus series. i feel G2 is better in few features compared to Nexus 5 , both being LG device. apart from Kitkat update , some thing new would be exciting ...

My favorite mobile so far (after the Samsung Galaxy Series, HTC and even... the iPhone). And it gets even better? What a treat, as it runs already great on Jelly Bean. Now I can patiently wait for the next LG flagship device :D. So bring it (KitKat) on, LG ;)

I just rooted my G2 yesterday to be able to trim the memory and improve the performance (this happening automatically in 4.3+) , will consider not buying any LG again in future since they're already lazy in updates! I mean Nexus 5 was built on top of this, and G2 mini released with KitKat, so why all the delay for the big brother?!

Nice comparision. I'd like to buy G2 but I'm afraid that Kit Kat is the last update of this phone. LG update politics is so not right. Now I've got Optimus 4X HD of LG and I remember remember how fast it was abandoned (only one system update to 4.1.2). 4X HD was a flagship phone with Tegra 3, 4x1,5 GHz, 1Gb of RAM and 16 MB of internal memory. Now when G3 is out I'm almost sure that was the last update of G2. I'm really hope that I'm wrong ;-)

Pleas LG add the softkey hide feature that his available on the g flex, I know KitKat comes with immersive mode but that only works with game apps, and their are other apps that wont have immersive mode. So please LG I beg you to add this feature, or I'll just be forced to switch to cyanogenmod and lose the knock on feature.

LG could fix the KnockOn unresponsiveness. Feature doesn't work reliably - sometimes needs many taps to wake from sleep.

It isn't coming to my phone and I have an international version of the LG G2

We need improvements of camera in low light, it's very slow. Also we can't shoot moving objects, it's always blurry unlike other phones with same camera, g2 is almost perfect for me, it's just the camera, it's not so bad but it's not so great either.

I can't see how this is a reliable test...

Better not take 6 more months to see this on my VS980 on Verizon. Tell us when you're going to update LG and maybe when you submit the updates to the carries so we know who's fault it is on why it takes so long.

I want a better interface. A very smooth interface. Plus I want a more faster camera. The camera is very slow. Oh also the notification bar. Can you make it transparent on 3rd party apps??? I expect big and worth-it update. Don't dissappoint me LG.

Seriously this video is in slowmotion and they talking about MS (milliseconds) in most of the tasks the kitkat phone was no more than about 1 sec faster not a huge leap actually, easy trick to make it seems a lot faster than it is. 1ms= 0.0001 second, the biggest differens I saw was 699/324. 699-342=357. that means its gallery will launch 1/3 (one third of a SECOND faster than previously AT BEST) mostly it was ca 25-50ms faster, thats why they used slow-mo speed test because at normal speed you DON't see the difference because it so smal.

this test isn't very scientific as it is subjected to human error. it is almost impossible to tell if both fingers touch the screen or leave the screen at the same time and so I think the difference in milliseconds is negligible. The G2 was VERY fast on 4.2 and it still is on 4.4 and that's all that matters really.

All I kept thinking was how stupid... It's really barely any difference, if you see how long it takes to simply tap the device which is usually quite quick, I doubt 20ms is going to be noticeable on most functions. But not complaining about it being faster...

This test is totally invalid, statistically flaud and misleading. You have to do a series of tests and then take the average to determine whether KK is quicker than JB on those actions. I bet LG have picked the quickest time for KK and the slowest for JB and then made it look like the improvement is bigger than it actually is. Shame on you LG!

i have to say i disagree with many of these timings, if you pause the video at 2:15 you will see th jb gallery opened faster
