@@carinjansenvanvuuren8988 Great question Carin! I believe the answers have been there all along. What comes to mind, is that God never forces Himself on us. Throughout time, Christians have changed their focus. We are often quite self consumed. And God allows us to walk down some unnecessary roads to finally turn to His wisdom and His ways. So many of us prayed that God would just take these desires away. Poof.. like some kind of Genie. And that would put us in the position of always telling God what to do, elevating our knowledge over His. What I believe He wants to teach us is that we are totally and completely reliant on His strength and promises, to achieve victory. James 4:7 tell us to submit ourselves to Jesus and resist Satan. I'm not sure we were all submitting ourselves, staying in constant communication and reliance on Him. We just wanted the temptations to disappear, and to be heterosexual. As you may well know, heterosexuality isn't the solution. Only Jesus is. There is certainly a great deal of sexual impurity within heterosexuality. It's not so different from any other habit that we don't take discipline over. Such as overeating, abusing substances that take their toll, like stimulants, etc. Porn addictions, drinking, etc. What God was and is trying to teach us, is a life of total surrender. Abiding in Him, avoiding world truths, and living by His truths.

I think that if it is mutually agreed, and they are not seeking to fulfill that desire elsewhere, then God bless them, and I hope that God is central to their marriage. Sex isn't required, and for many, is overrated.

I would say, why get married under such circumstances at all? It's no longer that which God designed it to be. It would make more sense for those two individuals to establish a platonic, friendly relationship or a business relationship, whatever it is that connects them to one another. Otherwise, they are twisting God's plan for marriage, in the same way that 2 people who live together and sleep together but are not married are twisting God's plan for marriage. It's the same thing, just turned upside down.

I am like that, I don't like sex, and I would like a relationship made only of pure love and faithfulness with a man compatible with me. @@bard8999 Ahh.. Please let me clarify. I thought you were referring to a marriage between a man and a woman. We actually don't find in scripture, for it to be God's will that two people of the some gender, call something marriage, as that is contrary to God's counsel. We have examples of close friendships between two same-gendered people in the bible, but not marriage... or romantic interactions. I believe it is important to strive to live in agreement with God's instructions for us, to avoid peril in our own lives, as well as being a stumbling block to someone else. I know what comes natural. And I'm certain of where that comes from, because we are all tainted with the stain of sin. However, God has called us for such a time as this, to be His representative and to demonstrate to Satan, that even though he may tempt us until Jesus comes, we belong to Jesus.

I do still fail, mostly bad thoughts or outbursts of anger. That means when I am tempted to gaze upon someone lustfully for example I avert my eyes and ask the Lord to help me resist I remove myself from the situation and God give me the way out so that I do not sin! James 1:12 - Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. If you claim to be a Christian and you are living in sin how can you say that you know God? Sin is defined as the transgression of God law. So if you are sinning you are in opposition to God and so how can you love someone you are opposing? We are called to die daily and resist temptation. Problem is we love sin and think God will just wipe it all away that we are under grace and thus we can do whatever and will be written in the book of life. That isn’t what the bible says. Christ is our example and we are to become like Him. The bible states we are being perfected. That requires visible, tangible change over time. If we don’t change thinking we are saved “in our sin” we are lost because we are saved “from our sin” implying we die to our old self and come out of the water a new creature in Christ.

Then no sin should be ok to be called a Christian then. So then none of us are Christians by that rule. It’s not any worse than any other sin people do.

I used to put alcohol and over indulge in eating until I learned my body is the temple of God and that it was sin so by the power of the Holy Spirit I asked God to take away my desire for those things and He did and I do not commit that sin anymore. I used to watch pornography until I realized it was the sin of Adultery and by the power of God’s Holy Spirit I do mot watch it anymore and do not sin that sin. The list goes on and on. When you realize what you are doing you are to STOP! Not continue in the sin. When you give your life to Christ you become a nee creature IN Christ forsaking the old life in the world. Seems like you really do insist on finding solace in the ignorance of reality, delusion and self-deception. Why has this God (or more accurately YOUR VERSION of Him) not made any significant impact on the world in the past 2024 years? Why is He still so Weak that He cannot even move or speak to make Himself known without mere humans like you, doing it on His behalf? The inability for you to come up with a Rational and Logical Answer to this Question already seems like pretty damning evidence against the existence of your God. A rational person rejects all human gods equally, because all of them are equally imaginary. How do we know that they are imaginary? Simply imagine that one of them is real. If one of these thousands of gods were actually real, then his followers would be experiencing REAL, UNDENIABLE BENEFITS. These benefits would be OBVIOUS to everyone. The followers of a True God would pray, and their prayers would be ANSWERED. The followers of a True God would therefore live longer, have fewer diseases, have lots more money, and be more fortunate than non-believers in this God. There would be THOUSANDS of statistical markers surrounding the followers of a True God. >>>>>>>>>>EVERYONE would NOTICE all of these benefits, and they ALL would gravitate toward this True God. And thus, over the course of several centuries, everyone would HAVE BEEN aligned on the One True God. Church is not perfect! It's a hospital for sinners but at least they are there treating their ailments and focusing on becoming better. More sick people need to attend. 🙋‍♀️🙏🦘

It's a bit dangerous to make a blanket statement about the church. I'm had to remind myself on numerous occasions. There are many people that make up the church, and not everyone can be put in the same category. It's far more important to keep my eyes on Jesus, and do all that I can to reflect Him to others. I think that if we see ourselves as a calling card for Him, it helps to change our perspective a bit and aid in helping people have a different and better relationship with the church. Perhaps helping some of the bitter members who don't give the church a very good reputation.

@@garytowner9375 Yes.. It was the sin of Pride that was most egregious. However, many today, want to cast the blame on one thing. Thereby, eliminating the fact that an overarching them in Sodom was gross sexual impurities, homosexuality largely included.
