My pet hate...trucks hogging lane 2 at 0.5mph faster than truck in lane 1!

In my humble opinion as an HGV driver, the worst driving habit is the car driver that is happy driving at 45 - 50 MPH until I am passing / overtaking them and they suddenly feel the desire to speed up to 60 MPH. A simple overtaking manouvre can last for several miles due to misplaced pride of not wanting to be passed by a truck, a true example of the very definition of pathetic.

If they cut you up at the last second you'd moan. I get in early too.... Stops being hung out to dry not being able to get back in.

Could be that he doesn't want to spend more than a mile trying to get back in when there's a line of trucks and then other trucks overtaking that line. It happens. This may seem unbelievable but some truck drivers can be more than a little selfish. Some can be downright b******s or even perverse, just like many other drivers.

I too do the same om a certain junction on M6 as i almost got caught out one morning while travelling in lane 2 as all the vehicles in lane 1 were up eachothera backsides and i had very little room to get over to exit but forced my way over and i got honked ans flashed by the lorry i cut up who waa guilty of riding less than a second space from the vehicle in front. Better to get over early as lorry driver arent all that too innocent.

Surely better than cutting you up .

The number of times an HGV driver has used their vehicle to block cars entering or exiting sliproads and then when the drivers get in lane in good time what happens? Ah yes, Mr. Grumble comes to town.

Far better that drivers get in their lane early, than cut in at the last moment.

So what is the minimum safe motorway speed Mr Gonzalez ?

The blue car was out of order braking and pulling in. Anyone who stayed in lane 2 would have had to push in somewhere to use the exit. Or leave it to the last second (2:11?) Did the blue car come past and only then realise how tight the traffic was in lane 1? By that point they couldn't exactly slow down in lane 2 and slot in behind the cammer. It would have been safer to look for a space between the cars ahead but that would have pissed off even more people.

You’re lucky you don’t drive much on the M4 in South Wales. Two large sections are 50mph average speed check. Absolute pain in the backside. Apparently done to reduce pollution, according to the idiots in the Welsh Assembly 😂

There should be a minimum speed limit on motorways of 60 mph..

Since the start we've been gaining on the white car. @ 0:30 when the van pulls in, the gap isn't safe any more. Did the cammer immediately put his right indicator on when the van started to move to lane 1 ?

A mor tolerant approach will make you a better and stress free driver.

Lane 1 is the normal driving lane no matter if you’re on a single carriageway, dual carriageway or motorway, lane 1 is the lane you should be driving in unless you’re overtaking or turning right, 1 mile isn’t very far, I personally think it’s reasonable to get back into lane 1 ready for your exit junction within 1 mile, even at 50mph you’ll cover a mile in no time at all due to the high speed, you don’t want to be stuck in lane 2 3 or 4 overtaking and can’t get back into lane 1 to take your exit junction.

Highway Code states keep left unless overtaking. Lane 1 Driver is not doing anything wrong.

The car pulling in didn’t brake but thicko truck driver doesn’t understand adaptive cruise control does he? The car will maintain the speed that cruise is set to. No need to touch the brakes at all as the car will also maintain the safe distance it is set to. Mine is 2 seconds to the car in front. Oh and if hit a vehicle from behind it is always your fault for not reading the road correctly.

Also be considerate of how far the next junction is away should they miss it. Several juncttions that I use would require a 15 mile diversion should I miss the one I wamt.
