I used to shampoo my hair everyday, now I it's only every 3-4 days. At first it was really hard, my hair was so so so greasy, it feels dirty and ugly (obviously) and it also smells. But ur body will adjust, it took me about 2-3 weeks to get from shampooing my hair every day to once every other day. And then another 3 weeks to get from that to once every 3 days. And then it gets easier. Now (without ever intended to) my hair is not easily getting oily and I can shampoo once every 4 days. So good luck, u just need to trust on ur body. Hope u can understand my english (it's not my first language)

1) dyeing, perm, color, bleach 2) water damage: quality and length of exposure. Use water softener (it’s an investment so may choose to use it or not) and do a ACV rinse. 3) products, don’t wash often. Focus on your scalp when you use a shampoo. Use a gentle hydrating and moisturizing shampoo. Use less hair styling products 4) Physical friction, use an old t-shirt 5) Heat damage. No long hot shower, invest in tools which won’t damage your hair. 6)UV damage. Wear hat, umbrella

Try changing your shampoo and conditioner to sulfate-free products, if it still is damaged then apply some hair mask/oil to your hair an hour before you shower. Hair damage is also closely related to your diet, so maybe look into how nutritious your daily food intake is for your hair!

@@gargeesarma5709 It might also be from humidity at the area you live in, or the air polution. Polution really worsens everything from toe to hair :( Do you put your hair up in a ponytail or bun a lot? Doing that daily would also weaken your hair cuticles and make your hair less healthy, sometimes even leading to thinning. If you are using Tresemme, I heard that there is a class-action lawsuit for it because the customers are suing it for causing hair loss. Changing the brand of your shampoo and conditioner might really help a lot!

If anyone see's this, another big physical cause of hair damage is leaving your hair down/untied in the car with the windows rolled down. The snapping your hair does in the wind is also a big cause of friction and breakage because the force is so violent. So try to tie your hair back or wear a cap if you're worried about matting or breaking your fragile hair! (this applies to windy days. boating, biking, etc) have a good day

I’ve always heard that the final rinse, when you wash your hair, should cool water, which will cause the cuticle to lay flat, resulting in shiny, stronger hair.
@Sbarali7777
@Sbarali7777 2 жыл бұрын
Except that when you close the cuticle it makes it harder for your hair product to penetrate the hair after a shower. This is good advice for straight hair but not curly hair.
@personmcdudeguy
@personmcdudeguy 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sbarali7777 Raising the cuticle makes hair duller and harder to detangle. The whole point of conditioner is to help lay the cuticles down and lubricate the hair. Nobody should raise their cuticles on purpose. And products almost always coat the surface and almost never penetrate, penetrating hair is unnecessary and almost always a marketing gimmick. Conditioner coats the surface because the surface is where the friction and damage is occuring. In almost every formula, the only thing penetrating is the water.

I was going to comment that people with textured hair have a different playing field. Highly porous hair does NOT only come from damage. People’s porosity is different from many reasons. An ACV rinse is not going to magically change that. Sealing oils help fill in the gaps as they’re molecules are too large to penetrate the shaft. Styling while wet is our main way to avoid damage.

From someone that lives in a very hot and human country: It's still possible to wash hair as little as once a week, but it takes time for the scalp to adjust and produce less natural oil. So for the first month or so after starting washing my hair, my head was so greasy and disgusting by the 3rd day, but now even after a week my hair looks fine. And when I say wash, I mean wash with shampoo. I shower and use some sort of conditioner almost every day.

I live in a hot and humid place too! Now I'm transitioning from washing it every 3 days to every 4 days. A thing that helps a lot is to do some hair styling on the days the hair is the most greasy ( with no heat of course). I usually braid it or make a bun. It really helps a lot, and it's fun to get to know new hairstyles to try out!

Thank you so much, this video is incredibly helpful! I've heard/known about most of the methods you talk about for years, but I never really followed them. Along w/ several other things, I just didn't see how using a tshirt as opposed to a towel to dry hair would make that much of a difference. But your explanations are so thorough & the visual examples you showed (like with the pasta & yarn) were exactly what I needed to see to finally open my eyes to just how much damage I'm causing to hair that can simply be avoided. Because of your video, I will now implement all of these methods because I finally understand the importance of doing so. I think you just saved my hair! Thank you again so much

HUGE help for my hair was actually using Johnson and Johnson’s baby shampoo. No harsh chemicals, very gentle on the scalp and hair... and body for that matter. If you notice yourself breaking out a lot on your shoulders or back or if you have a skin condition like KP (what I have) or eczema, you may be surprised how helpful reducing those harsh chemicals can be on the health of your skin. After all, that shampoo is getting washed away and most likely coming into contact with your skin.

Also once in a week, oiling our hair is necessary. When I used to live in a hostel, I had to wash my hair with hard water because there was no option but now that I started living at home, soft water is like the most important thing. And when I started to like keep oil on my hair for 3-4 days a week, it grew longer and thicker! And I'm already blessed to have silky straight and smooth hair. And honestly I never experimented with my hair apart from cutting them so yeah, I already follow all the things she said. ☺

I just found out my 6 years of ''dandruff'' was actually extreme scalp eczema, so hearing the water might worsen it is definitely something I'm gonna look into! I was already planning to try an AVC hair rinse to calm my scalp, so seeing it can also help against that water issue is great :)

@SallyNathania I have had acne for 15 years, I’ve never had any problem with hair oil affecting my acne. If you have oily skin along with your acne it means your skin is dry. Using face oils really help with acne (weird I know) but it made a huge difference in my skin. If you are worried about your hair/acne, try braiding your hair on days you don’t wash it. Hair will adjust to less washing. I used to wash my hair every 3 days, but I’ve been washing my hair once a week for years. It took about a month for my hair to adjust. Also the chemicals in your shampoo/conditioner can really impact your skin and acne, so washing your hair less often is better for your skin and hair

I use to struggle with washing more hair every day because of an oily scalp too, until changed my shampoo to a non-toxic scalp clarifying one that has no harsh chemicals and build up ingredients. I know you mentioned chemical damage, and I wanted to highlight how crucial a non-toxic shampoo that is focused on scalp health is because that addresses the scalp and the overall health of your hair over time i.e. like soil for a garden is tended to to grow healthy flowers, tend to the soil to ensure beautiful flowers. With focus on shampooing with a great healthy shampoo I've minimized to washing once a week. Instead of using heavy deep conditioners, I've opted to oils before washing to honour scalp health and hair nourishment. A good one start with could be coconut oil because it's convenient or camellia oil which is used in traditional asian beauty and is perfect as a lightweight multi-functional nourishment for finer hair, it also feels really nice. :)

I just wanted to tell you (if you ever read this lol) that I brought the entire Krave line and I love it! I used to spend hundreds of dollars on luxury products from Sephora along with tons of masks. Your products all have a real purpose and make my skin look and feel wonderful. The cleanser doesn't dry out my skin and, I don't have to use a lot to get my big face and neck. I use Great barrier relief as a moisturizer for night time and it's nourishing without making my face feel greasy(The smell is unique too, smells like a sweet breakfast porridge). kale-lalu yAHA is very effective and is hydrating while also exfoliating my skin, As a person whose mixed, I've never found a sunscreen that wasn't tinted and had no white cast until your beet sunscreen. I'm so happy you came out with this line and I wish I had brought it sooner. Almost forgot the packaging. I usually throw out the boxes of my skincare but I take care of the containers your products came in because they look so nice. I can't wait to see what you come out with next would love to see something for my body. Thank you again from a long-time follower.

When I was in China shampooing every other day worked fine for me because the weather was cool. The biggest thing that has helped my hair is not only using a paddle brush to detangle my hair, but also using a smoothing brush. I have really oily hair naturally, and I used to wash it almost every day. But I found using a soft-haired bristle brush distributes the oils that are normally on my scalp down to my ends, not only getting rid of some of the oils on my roots but also making my hair naturally sleek and shiny. I've gone from every day to every other and sometimes every three days. If you're like me and have thick, oily hair, I definitely recommend trying it out!

My Mom is a hairdresser so I've always followed all of those tips. I wash my hair once a week and focus the product only on the roots. I sometimes use dry shampoo on the 6th day when it's needed and some hair oil from time to time. I let my hair air dry as often as possible and never play with it while it's wet. I try to finish the wash with colder water to close up the cuticles and still... my hair has always been extremely frizzy and dry. I don't have damaged hair but still, it is such a pain to keep it looking good and I actually learned something a while ago that has completely changed my life. Brushing you hair is what makes it look as awful. It doesn't matter how well you take care of it, brushing it will always ruin the look. So now, I just rarely comb through the roots and that's it, my hair can finally be free. Also, since my hair really IS very dry, I use a hair mask instead of a conditioner, the ones from Garnier are really nice. Anyway, thanks for the video. I'm loving the diversity! 😍

Take the time to use tweezers or a metal pick tool, to get out any dust, lint, or spaghetti wrapped hair around brushes and combs to make them cause less friction. About every 3-6 months. It is well worth the hour it will take, I promise!!

This is so helpfull! The washing your hair schedule she has is as same as mine for years thanks to my mother who told me washing your hair to often is bad also using hair dryer is bad but you have to when it's cold. Thanks to her advice I have such good silky hair that everyone thought was fake. Also taking long showers is bad anyway since your wasting so much water.

I'd have probably topped my school if I had a teacher who explains like her I mean she's so good 😍
