I’m the beginning, he WAS the face of One Direction since he had the most experience and an amazing voice. Have you watched their performances when they got picked? Some of them were kinda amateur. Don’t want to point anyone out, but it’s pretty obvious if you watch the auditions. 😬 Liam had a star quality about him already, and an amazing voice thanks to a lot of training. The other boys got training and have really taken off. I think they’ve all done great!

Yeah I agree. The 1d fandom is toxic, even until now. The fandom is extremely supportive but can be very delulu. They attracted a lot of stalking behaviour by showcasing extremely passionate and stalking behaviour as proof of "Beatlemania" in their early days which set a precedent that these behaviours were acceptable in the fandom. Until now I still see things like oh management used to turn off Niall's mic on purpose (which lol no? This is a business and why would they turn off any mics over silly opinions) or obsessive hyperanalysing Larry stans (which like...some rays of colors at a show mean jackshit), talking about their S.O.s as beards or PR, parasocially worshipping them and going after any criticism others might have of their fave. Remember in concerts they had phones and other dangerous items chucked at them and they could not leave their hotels in fear of their fans. All the 1d boys are still very careful about what they say because it could become easily twisted and dogpiled on the next day. The fandom is part of the problem.

@@elisabeth4941 it's actually a long time ago now. So he refers to it just in general i guess because the exact timing wasn't his main point and he knows fans know. Like others said Liam said in older interviews that they needed to find their roles within the band and which skills from whom came when in handy. Also you can have a blast together on stage and during interviews/promo and stuff but have fights in the studio or the writing process. Those are different aspects of their work and one can be fun and one can be tough. Also those kind of things usually don't happen to happen at the same time so in like (dates made up!) April they might be close but in July they are a bit distant and best friends in October again but we only saw them in April and October because during their studio time in July they weren't out in public together. U know what I mean? And the other dudes were also there and they had their personalities and their opinions and sometimes you and your ideas are outvoted and that can be frustrating
