Got a lot of love for Peachy as he was the face of Warhammer TV when I was getting started with learning how to paint, so nice to see him far more relaxed and himself now he's not at GW

Great installment. Really good hearing from Peachy on what things are like on the other side of things in GW. Working for GW sounds like a similar experience to working in the civil service: want better pay and treatment - go for a promotion. The stuff regarding managers and management culture makes me think that the reason AoS is going over better than current 40k is down to the mangers of teams and how they interact, not just with their own teams, but the teams around them: More of that siloed problem.

Man it hurt my heart to hear that artists are underpaid at another "prestige" company. Its so sad to say but we only ever get paid what we negotiate for, not what we're worth. This was an excellent discussion. Thanks for all the fascinating insight and laughs!

I think model painters are ridiculously undervalued on the regular, same as any commission artist really. People only see the product, they never take into account just how much work goes into learning all of it.

Absolutely worth the wait. Helluva tale from Mr the Peachy 🍑. I wish I could say that I'm shocked by the disfunction at GW...but if we are being honest, companies get to a certain size where you cant help but find twit managers that see it as just a job and about the money and the passion gets lost.

@PeachyTips re: painting to your highest standard. A step by step playlist could absolutely be useful for people. Putting your spin of army painting on it; doing a squad to army/tabletop/playable standard as normal, then adding extra steps over time/different videos would be quite helpful.

Interesting that GW is certainly a victim of The Peter Principle. An observation that the tendency in most organizational hierarchies, such as that of a corporation, is for every employee to rise in the hierarchy through promotion until they reach a level of respective incompetence. Basically companies are doomed to always have bad managers because if they were good they'd be promoted.

Companies not being transparent about wages on job postings is one of the worst things around. It's an issue in IT as well that current employees are paid less than new recruits to similar positions, cause talent has to be attracted somehow and times change. Not taking care of people who are the loyal core of your company, that's horrific. We had that happen at my previous employer quite a few times. Only leads to embarrassing conversations with managers.

One thing I thought about concerning presenters leaving, on the one hand o also understand why they worried, but on the other hand they can't force anyone to stay. A better, and arguably more profitable case, would b.e fostering a reelatjknship where when they leave, they continue to market your brand. It -must-be more cost effective to grow your own influencers, instead of hooking big channels.

I see two problems with w40k in the future. 3d printing (kills sells in eastern europe already) and game becoming so complicated "one way to play", so that it will be too hard for new players to start playing. Especialy if they can't play their armies the way they want/lore says.
