Here is Liberace playing songs the audience requested. Instead of playing them individually, he put them all together in a medley.

You get told how good some of these old greats were, but it doesn't hit you how good they actually were until you go back and watch them. Makes you wonder how many great talents were lost to time before the advent of recording

Liberace gets no love from piano snobs. But i find the high amount of legato in his playing to be extremely skillful. He was no spring chicken at this point, and he stayed in great shape mentally; very focused on his playing. Sure would be nice to play this well.

As a performer, I can tell you I've been on stages where it's over 100 degrees on stage. I can't imagine being dressed the way he was. People kinda underestimate how much he loved his audience. He loved them enough to probably risk suffering a heat stroke. What a showman.

The Piano Man I saw him 3 times in Cleveland OH towards the end of his career before he died. It was worth far more than the price I paid for the tickets. The best venue was The Front Row Theater-a circular stage that rotated 4 times/hour so everyone was able to see his hands travel up and down the keyboard at some point. A one in a billion showman for sure.

Liberace was the reason i took up the piano before at the age of five before i knew any classical pianists so i have alot to thank Liberace for as he got me interested in the piano. The first song he plays here "Memory" from Cats, is one of if not my Fave , And His Version, interpretation Is by Far my Fave. I love how he uses "Harp Like" arpeggios to enhance, to increase the flow.. Beautiful. And at 1:51 when he Abruptly Stops, and let's it hang, Creating the "Tension",Then comes back in Quietly... A Gentle "Resolve" then back to full , That is a Master. R.I.P...
