The VP could have met any other officer, but being a God fearing person, his path was protected to meet up with CID Addison. This case could have been out of his jurisdiction , or may not have been on shift that particular timing...They both recollect the incident that one can imagine the drama. I concurred as well. Hopefully this interviewer learn next time and not repeat his disrespect to the office of the presidency. Addison was very respectful and referred to the VP as his excellency.
