On April 23, 2012 at Convocation, North America's largest weekly gathering of Christian students, Dr. Archibald Hart spoke to Liberty University students, asking them to "beware the dangers of the digital world." He embraced the idea and products of technology but showed students the many ways that technology is shaping brains and a person's most important relationships. As "digital natives," he urged students to comprehend the myth of multi-tasking and encouraged them to take enough time for sleep. Finally, he wanted students to recapture the gift of pure imagination and to keep minds whole and focused to be a tool used by God and for His glory.
Dr. Hart is a licensed psychologist, certified biofeedback practitioner, and board certified diplomate fellow in psychopharmacology. He is the Senior Professor of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. Along with his latest book, How the Endless Pursuit of Pleasure is Leaving us Numb (2007), He is best known for his research on the hazards of ministry, depression, anxiety, divorce, stress, and sexuality. In partnership with his daughter, Dr. Sylvia Hart Frejd, a new book will soon be released titled The Digital Invasion, which will help people manage their digital life and enable them to thrive and flourish in their real life and relationships.
