People can also stay in Africa and seek asylum in their country's embassy to the country of their choice. People with legit reason for asylum usually get it but most European countries (likely all but Germany and UK) sends all economic migrants back and those who stay illegally usually get only work that pay enough for them to eat and live in poor conditions until they get caught. Illegal migrants get no free education, health care, possibility to rent apartment in most cases, no worker's rights, no insurance privately and from a job.
