It's long overdue. Many individuals are unable to obtain their driver's licenses due to the unfortunate practice of officials demanding bribes. Even if one passes the required tests, they are often failed simply for not offering a bribe. This situation is a matter of serious concern that needs to be addressed.

We are paying R3 500 in order to pass and get drivers licenses at Alrode Traffic department (Alberton) and Benoni Traffic Department this is what they are always doing

In 2014 i was unemployed, i went on to work as a "dakaboy" to raise enough for license testing. Did everything right on the road and it was raining. Jikijiki in the office the guy demanded R1000 or else i fail. I pleaded with him, i had to cry until he heard my plea. These guys are cruel

This is great, my daughter went 9 times because she refused to pay them. The lady and she had a fight because she told her infront of all the people that she did not even looked up in the vehicle she was on her phone the hole time but failed her. She wil not pay for her license. After that they all failed her 9 times, they will let her drive and park until she dit something wrong

Years ago when I re-wrote my learners there was a man from east euro who could barely speak English that had a licence from his country. Since that licence wasn't recognised here he was forced to get a South African licence. Unfortunately without any command of the English language there was no chance be would pass. Tried a few times and then eventually bribed. Admitted it openly before we all wrote. So this bribe was to eliminate other bribes lol.

I was asked to pay R250 just to collect my renewed license because officials were not working due to a lack of water.
