at 1:17 that is the cleanest take i've heard him play live. coming back in in that smooth after that tapping lick is not easy!

I tried learning those tapping legato runs that he does and after like couple hours of practicing them I felt like I wanted to throw my guitar out the window.

You'll get close with a Marshall valve amp with medium amounts of gain and something like the Xotic AC booster or Fulltone OCD in front

Bassist sounds brilliant in the softer section toawrds the end. And of course Guthrie is on top form. I love the little tapping bit he does!

@3:38 It might seem like Govan fucked up, but that is just his way of giving the rest of us guitarists hope that we may believe Govan is actually human and that someday we can do as he does.

Pretty fluid playing to be sure, reminds me of Beck in a number of instances here. Like the sound of that Cornford stack too.

Guthrie, you can make a few squibs and I can still know you are just fucking great. Mistakes or not, you play like a human, no two fives performances are the same.

@LoopMusicman no. actualy thats very interesting rhythmic variation. however, he really makes us to believe that he used to be human at 3:38 never heard "bad" note from Guthrie

Most shred gets boring after a bit. I find Guthries style pleasant and refreshing. I do hear some late 70s early 80s theme song in there. Ive been listening to 80s theme music trying to find a source but im stumped. I hear the zappa influence in alot of his music. But Im not going to listen to any more 80s theme music trying to find it. Guthrie is inspiring and rules the instrument.

it was uploaded on the 20th of April which is 20/04/2010, but he may be american, and they invert the day and month, meaning 04/20/2010 the joke comes in because this proggy jazz fusion song has a very complicated time signature, im not able to understand anything other than 4/4 standard, so i think this song might be in 4/20 lol
