Darren Espanto singing songs at this 107.5 radio station is where I became a believer of his great voice. His version of Sia's Chandelier is so, so good, but his cover of I Believe blows it out the park. Now I am going to try and pull it up again to hear it again. He has grown so, videos I am referring was when he was 11 - 13 years old.

New subscriber here for Morissette! 😊👍 This performance of "A Whole New World" by Morissette and Darren on the Wish Bus in 2019 was part of the promotions in the Philippines for the live-action remake of "Aladdin". They were handpicked by Disney to do the rendition of one of the most beloved and popular among Disney songs. They sound so good that it's understandable if you would think that this was actually used in the film itself. The original singers in the animated film "Aladdin" in the early 1990's were Brad Kane and Lea Salonga, who is also a Filipina, a multi-awarded artist herself. This version of Darren and Mori is, for me, the closest one to that. I know how it feels whenever you hear Mori sing, it is soothing, it makes us feel the chills; she really has that Disney quality in her voice, and in her looks, too. She looks so happy when performing, her bubbly personality lightens up the mood wherever she is, with her ever-present gorgeous smile. 🥰 You might wanna check their duet performance of "Chandelier" years back when they were younger, at a Wish event. They both have covers of this song on the Wish Bus. Also, please react to Mori's covers of "Rise Up" (Andra Day) and "Secret Love Song" (Little Mix) on the Wish Bus.

Darren was born and raised in Canada, went to the PH when he was about 12 to do Voice Kids. Stayed, and became a superstar there. His version of Chandelier on the Wish Bus when he was 14 was the first Wish Bus video to go viral and started the huge impact of the Wish Bus on the music industry. He's now almost 22 and is consistently in the top 3 male vocalists in the PH. Another younger video to watch that is impressive is his version of I Believe which was done a few months after Chandelier. There's also a duet at the Wish Awards with Morisette of Chandelier when they were younger as well, that is impressive. This Whole New World performance was an official Disney event launching the movie in the PH and as such, they had strict guidelines on how to sing it, but both Darren and Mori are belters and both can sing high registers.

The original version of this song from the 1992 animated movie was sung by Brad Kane and Lea Salonga. Ms. Lea Salonga is a living legend of the Philippines as she was also the singing voice of Mulan (animated film). She is also known for Miss Saigon and West-end musicals. She is also a Tony awardee. Mori and Darren did this as part of the Aladdin promo in the Philippines but it was not used in the movie. Another duet they did which is a must-watch is Chandelier on the Wish Awards. Darren's viral Wish bus videos when he was way younger were Chandelier and I Believe. His more recent videos to check are Phantom of the Opera, Con Ti Partiro, and Heaven (with Calum Scott). Mori also sang this again recently for A Night of Wonder Disney+ PH launch, with Christian Bautista.

Morissette WAS hired by Disney to sing A Whole New World for the Philippines release of the movie Aladdin. She also just signed a contract with Disney Plus. She will be singing in upcoming Disney movies
