Machine is sitting at a 45 degree angle to the face. Very smart. 75 percent of the machine weight is behind the face. Also, excellent loading height. Tracks just below or even with top of truck bed.

I used my stopwatch app and your time per truck was about 1m05s. That's some serious earth moving!

My guess would be this loose of material wouldn't burn as much as heavy wet mud The more the machine lugs "works" the more fuel it is going to burn This operator is great and doing everything right

La 974 ,ca commence a être de la belle bete (85 tonnes). Y'a 15 ans j'en ai regarde une bosser comme toi tu fais. File de dumper et toi tu charges. Elle parait petite quand on est loin. Mais garee a coté d'une 25 tonnes, c'est pas pareil. Quand tu approches c'est quand même impressionnant,t'as pas envie d'être a portée. Au dela de cette taille (après 100 tonnes), on commence à tomber sur les pelles minières Si des mecs la trouve lente, 1 godet c'est 10 tonnes, c'est pas une mini-pelle !

@haraldurs I have never been in the experience to see if they actually burned the same amount of fuel... But for the most part I'd say would be pretty close. Thats why they have automatic idle on the newer machines, if the machines not "working" and is sitting idle, the machine idles down to conserve fuel, then when you move the controls it automatically idles up again.

It's sure nice to see truckers who seem to know what's going on.

Actually he is loading on a very average time. Right at 15 seconds a cycle. Its taking him 45 seconds on a three cycle load. However he does cut a good slope. Over all good operator.

I probably should know this by now but I going to ask anyways if I may, what kind of fuel or whatever to these caTerpillers run on and secondly, on a complete full tank, how long can these run/work, before it's time for another fill up??????

Why is Liebherr so "slow" comparing to Cat 385? (just comparing vs all vidoes Vantagetes posted with Cat 385). Or is it operator related? Settings - pump rpm?

@haraldurs Looks to me that the bucket is most likely one of the largest the machine can handle. If you know so much about an excavator you'd know that you set the rpm's and leave it it will burn the same amount of fuel no matter what.. has nothing to do with the controls.. He's turning trucks over constantly... he's not digging slowly. I'd like to see you in a high production job like that where you don't get a chance to eat your lunch or even have time to take a piss let alone anything else.

What if we had another excavator that is identical to this one and let that one run on the same rpm´s but not doing nothing. Does that one burn the same amount of fuel? Don´t remember what I said earlier and you are replying to because my comment has been removed. I don´t think I said anything that hurtful that it should have been removed. Nice loading technique, could go faster if he was'nt labouring the machine so much when taking his scoop, otherwise top job.

this IS a good pass match, why try for 4 buckets there is already a truck waitng. Anyone who reckons this is a bad setup is WRONG, there is well over 100% fill on the buckets.

This is pretty loose material, looks to me the operator is pressing to much, making it harder for the machine. Using a excavator is just like using a shovel, you stick the blade into the material you want to move, it seems to me that the operator should do more of that. It is less hard on the machine = faster digging = less oil consumption = more profit
