Whether you consider yourself a serious wine connoisseur or just someone who loves to entertain, then this Liebherr freestanding cellar is the perfect home for your wine collection. Taking a look at the exterior, the solid door has a classic black finish, giving it a stylish and modern appearance. There’s a slimline bar handle here on the left and the default hinge is on the right. However, the great news is that this cellar comes with reversible door hinges, meaning whatever space you have in mind at home, this appliance can fit around it.
Here at the top are the operating and control elements. In the centre, you have the temperature display, and these up and down arrows to the left adjust the cellar temperature in 1C increments. On the other side of the display you have the on/off button, the ventilation button and then finally the audible warning button. The ventilation setting ensures the wine cooler has the same climate as that of a wine cellar, meaning that an increased humidity level will help prevent corks from drying out and keeping your prized collection in tiptop condition. As for the audible warning function, this helps to protect your wine against excessive temperature fluctuations. When activated, it will sound when the door has been left open for longer than a minute, or when the interior gets too warm or too cold. Another really handy function you can activate using the control panel is the child-proof lock, which is designed to protect the cellar from being accidentally switched off by children.
Now, opening up, you can see there are six beech wood shelves within the cellar. These are all handcrafted and as you’d expect, are incredibly sturdy. In terms of quantities, this cellar can store up to 195 standard 750ml bottles, with a maximum of 36 bottles on each shelf. Label holders and labels are also supplied so that you can keep an at-a-glance note of what wine is stored on which shelf and to make choosing what to drink next an efficient and enjoyable process.
Here at the bottom of the cellar is the activated carbon filter. This is an important device that ensures the air circulating throughout the cellar is of optimum quality. Just bear in mind that Liebherr recommends you replace the filter once a year.
Another great feature is that the appliance defrosts automatically, so there’s no need to worry about the hassle of doing this manually. Any water that forms on the rear wall of the cellar drains into a reservoir at the back of the appliance and evaporates automatically through the compressor heat.
